    Nintendo announces date for black Wii Remote and Nunchuk

    The Wii Remote and Nunchuk are getting a stylish makeover for the holidays. Seems like the days of white controllers are out and black is in. On November 16, the black version will be on sale. The new black Wii Remote controller will come packaged with a black Wii MotionPlus accessory for $49.99. The black Nunchuk will be separate at $19.99. “The Wii Remote revolutionized not only how people play games, but also who plays them,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “The new color lets people customize their setup, and the controllers make great stocking stuffers for players of any age.”

    The Game Cartel Launches

    In an attempt to create the first ever player developed console game, Roundhouse Interactive (a gaming publisher based out of Toronto) has launched The Game Cartel. The site is a fee-based web portal, allowing members to work together towards creating exciting new next generation video games. Members take part in every step of the development process, voting and discussing each detail for slightly less than the cost of a retail game. In addition, every member who participates in the creation of the game will also be listed in the credits. There will be other perks as well, such as special offers from The Game Cartel’s affiliates (ie: Alienware and HiTech Tattoos).     Can you find Professor Layton?

    Many of you have been enjoying Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box since its launch on August 24. But if you think the fun is over, Nintendo is going to prove you wrong. Nintendo is sending out a Professor lookalike to four cities for you to find! The events occur from 11am – 1pm local time and start tomorrow in Minneapolis.     Get $50 off Xbox 360 Elite Console

    Microsoft announced a price drop but for two weeks anyone that buys an Xbox 360 Elite will get a $50 rebate as well. Any purchase from September 22 through October 5, 2009 will be eligible for the mail-in rebate. Here is what you have to do to claim your $50: From the Microsoft site: 1. Visit the Xbox 360 Elite Console rebate site. 2. Enter 49710555 as your password. 3. Be sure that you meet all the requirements as defined in the Mail-in Rebate form. 4.     Some DSi titles that are destined for 2010

    Word is a couple of new Nintendo DSi exclusive titles are coming out in Europe in early 2010 – and they are also destined for DSi’s in Australia and New Zealand. It’s all thanks to 505 Games who will also launch a Nintendo DS title that has Nintendo DSi compatible content. The first title is the game Hair Salon, developed by Sonic Powered. The game uses the DSi camera function to take your picture so that you can try out some hair styles or make-up looks on yourself or your friends (without the messy cleanup!), and you can even use your picture to become a character in the game! It is also the first game to have Automatic Face Recognition – stick your noggin in the right spot and the DSi will automatically take your picture! Pretty cool, huh?     Naruto coming to Disney XD, and gaming consoles too!

    Fall season television got a little less dull for those lucky enough to have access to the new DISNEY XD channel! Naruto Shippuden has been slated to premiere its dubbed episodes from October on the channel (which is aimed at providing live-action and animated series for kids between 6 and 14 years). And those Naruto fans that are also video games fans have double the reason to be happy as TOMY are releasing not one but 2 new Naruto games this year as well! However, if you don’t own a Nintendo DS or a Wii you’re out of luck! Coming to the DS is “NARUTO Shippuden: Ninja Destiny 2” with 34 playable characters, new attacks and cinematic jutsu moves.     Games on Demand adds Bioshock, Civilization Revolution

    Microsoft has added Bioshock and Civilization Revolution to it’s Games on Demand Service for Xbox 360. Both games are on the Marketplace starting today and both cost $29.99 each. One thing to note..Bioshock is selling at a lower price used at GameStop. So if you don’t feel like hunting it down, the the marketplace might be a good option. Otherwise, save yourself some money.

    Batman stays on top of the UK Game Sales charts

    Batman : Arkham Asylum holds onto the top spot in the UK game sales charts for last week. With Wii Sports Resort just waiting for it to falter. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare makes a HUGE move from 10 to 3. That game has been all over the place on the charts. Dissidia Final Fantasy enters at 10 and Champions Online enters at 18. The most popular publisher in the UK right now is a tie between Activision and EA at 4 games each. EA though is starting to see their sports titles fall a bit, so we’ll see how long they can hang on.
