Wish You Were At PAX East to See the Dead Space Panel? We Can Help
So, not all of us are lucky enough to make it out to Boston for PAX East this weekend (though I hear it’s chilly, so maybe I’ll count my blessings). There’s one pretty cool thing happening today though (Okay. There are a lot of cool things. But I’m trying not to think about them due to the whole “not being in Boston” thing), and that’s a panel on Dead Space and “Creating a World of Horror in Games.” See, I wasn’t kidding about the cool part! Who Knew Dismemberment Could Be So Much Fun?
Visceral Games has launched the “Get Dismembered in Dead Space 2″ contest, which lets YOU think of the best way for Isaac to rip apart a necromorph. Want to enter? Go here! http://www.deadspacegame.com/contest After the entry period is over, the community gets to pick the very best method among ten finalists, and that move will be developed in-game! The winner’s face and body will also be mapped to an NPC that will be ripped to shreds by another necromorph. Now, that has to be creepy. Entries can be text, audio, or video through the “contest” tab on the Dead Space 2 Facebook page (that URL above actually takes you there). You can enter until March 26th. The winner will be announced on April 20th. Check out this video for more instructions.

Dead Space 2 will be developed by Visceral Games and will star Issac Clark. “Like so many gamers worldwide, we love the Dead Space franchise and are very excited to announce a new game in the series,” EA’s senior VP and group general manager Nick Earl stated. The game’s executive producer Steve Papoutsis added: “We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. “There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot
