EA CEO sits with Fox Business to talk video games

Fox Business sat down with EA’s John Riccitiello where he discussed everything about EA. He spoke about the upcoming holiday season and how he is confident that EA will see a jump in sales for Christmas season. They also talk about The Beatles: Rock Band, online market in China, Bioware, and how much he loves Dead Space. I love how he says, “We don’t make things people have to have, we make things people want to have.” I don’t know, I have to have Dragon Age Origins and quite a few other upcoming games. Big Apple Comic Con 2009

This year was my first year attending Big Apple Comic Con (BACC), and I honestly had no idea what to expect. After looking over the guest list the fangirl inside got pretty excited! A few of the stars from Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek caught my eye, and I planned out to make sure to at least go by them in the autograph area if I couldn’t make the panels. As per usual for me, my first day at the con was on Saturday, and man was it busy. Getting in to the con seemed a bit disorganized as you had to enter one building to get to registration, then exit and go over to another for the main floor with a bare minimum of signs, but I made it in and began to roam the main floor. One of the first areas I saw was the massive booth that

Visceral looking for help for Dead Space sequel

According to a job posting on Linked In, Visceral Games is looking for some help to work on a sequel to Dead Space. This M-rated action/shooter sequel will set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience. The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place. We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions. The Games Label at EA is 100% committed to this IP, and has already worked on IP extensions such as comic, animated features, and action figures. The position is in the Redwood City, CA location and was posted on September 4. So if you are interested, you may want to respond right away. [source via Superannuation]

    Review: Dead Space

Platform: Xbox 360 ESRB: M Number of Players: 1 Publisher: EA Release Date: October 14, 2008 Official Website BUY Genuinely scary games are hard to come by these days, and Dead Space delivers. But it also weaves in and out of amazing fun and hair-pulling frustration. Graphics: Hoo boy these graphics are mighty fine. There are games out there where you think to yourself, “yes this looks fine”, and then there are games that really make you appreciate the next-gen technology that the developers have to work with. Dead Space looks amazing; the characters, the environment, the monsters, all superb. Also, considering most people’s lack of knowledge of what nuts and bolts space mining looks like, this game gave you the impression that they were absolutely spot-on for how it should look. Sound: Dead Space knows atmosphere, and 90% of the atmosphere hinges on how creepy the sound is. This

Temple Hill has experience working with video game movies as they are producing the Gears of War movie.

    Dead Space First Look

I am about a third of the way through Dead Space. Why only a third? When I play Dead Space, I feel like my heart is going to burst through my chest and that’s just while walking around. The title uses sound in ways that I have not witnessed in a game. You hear screams off to the side and you know that something nasty is waiting for you. Dead Space is a third-person survival horror-action video game. If you enjoy survival horror games than you are in for a treat. You play as Issac Clarke who ends up battling the craziest looking aliens on a mining ship. As a First Look, I won’t give too many details about the game. The controls are pretty easy to use, but there are a lot of them. EA was not lying when they stressed the importance of strategic dismemberment. I have never
