First DLC for ‘Gears of War 3′ hits a snag

More than a few “Season Pass” subscribers are wondering where the first downloadable add-on for Gears of War 3 is today. Turns out the “Horde Command Pack” has hit a bit of a delay out the door. The announcement was made on the Epic Games forums late last night: The scheduled Horde Command Pack release for Gears of War 3 is temporarily delayed due to a technical issue. We apologize to those of you who are anxiously awaiting to play. We know this is disappointing news as we’ve seen a lot of posts today showing excitement for this content. We have folks working around the clock to resolve this issue ASAP so you can all play and enjoy the Command Pack. The Epic Games Community team will stick around and keep you posted with any further information. Stay tuned for updates! So it’s coming (hopefully soon), but I can see

‘Duke Nukem Forever’ DLC might actually be kind of funny

2K and Gearbox have made the first add-on for critical punching bag Duke Nukem Forever available today, and I feel like a bad person for saying this, but it actually sounds kind of funny. The “Hail to the Icons Parody Pack” does…exactly what the title says it does — adds a few parodies to the game in the form of three new multiplayer modes and four new new multiplayer maps: Hail to the Icons Parody Pack includes: Three All-New Modes – Freeze Tag provides some of the best team gameplay in Duke Nukem Forever.  Players cooperate to freeze and shatter their opponents in succession for huge point streaks and combos.  See who can hold on to the babe the longest in Hot Potato, and play free-for-all Duke-style in Hail to the King. Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance

Aliens are coming to the World of Keflings

Visitors from Outer Space are on the way. Well, if you’re a resident of A World of Keflings, anyway. The Xbox LIVE Arcade title’s first DLC, “It Came From Outer Space,” adds a “full cast of Kefling-sized alien characters” as well as a new kingdom where you can build a whole alien city! “Aliens have crash-landed in the Kefling world and you and the Keflings need to use your mad building skills to get them home,” said Mike Nielsen, lead designer on the DLC. “You’ll be building giant robots, crazy alien structures, and even robotic Keflings all in the name of repairing their mother ship. There’s plenty of new stuff to explore – a new kingdom, new characters, new resources, new buildings… It’s pretty substantial.” We currently know nothing about release timing or pricing.

‘Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine’ DLC coming October 25

Per Eurogamer, the first DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Exterminatus, is being released on Tuesday, October 25. The download will be free and for all platforms. The DLC adds online co-op with four players in a special mode called Exterminatus (how convenient) where you’re fighting Orks and the Forces of Chaos. You know, the usual. This mode will feature two scenarios: Assault on Hab Center Andreas and Escape from Kalkys Facility. Perks from multiplayer will carry over to this mode, and your performance here will also affect your multiplayer ranking. For the Eurogamer article, Warhammer producer Andy Lang hinted that future DLC would feature both free and paid elements. To find out what we think of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, check out Keri’s review.

‘Gears of War 3′ Horde Command Pack can be yours November 1

The first add-on for Epic’s Gears of War 3, the Horde Command Pack, will be available at the beginning of November. The Command Pack will include three new maps, three new characters, two new weapon skins and a new set of fortification upgrades for use during Horde mode (hence the name). This also ups the total Gamerscore for the title by 250. Here’s the full details on these additions: New maps: Blood Drive – The Jacinto Medical Plaza was overwhelmed by evacuated citizens after the government-sanctioned Hammer Strikes, and the ensuing riots quickly turned this safe haven into a dangerous inferno. An abundance of high ground and funneled choke points make this map a returning favorite to Horde. Rustlung – Once the pride of the Royal Tyran Navy, the foredecks of this decommissioned battleship are now riddled with bullet holes. Any team with the fortitude to hold the exposed central

‘Portal 2′ DLC goes under peer review October 4

Valve announced today that Portal 2‘s first DLC, “Portal 2: Peer Review” will be released October 4. The free content (for PC/Mac, Xbox 360 and PS3) is primarily a new addition to the game’s co-op that continues the story of Atlas and P-Body. New challenge modes will be added to both single-player and co-op, and there will be leaderboards added as well so you can get even more competitive with your friends after you work with them. Now, this is a little bit after their target “Summer” date of release, so to soothe the pain that is waiting on free things, here’s some free things you don’t have to wait for — the third volume of “Songs to Test By” and a new Turret Comic. Aww.

Square Enix announces first DLC for ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’

This October, you’ll be exploring another conspiracy in Deus Ex: Human Revolution in the recently-announced DLC called “The Missing Link.” It’s coming to every platform the game is on — including OnLive. (Spoiler alert!) While Adam was investigating during the course of the game, he disappears for three days. (Aaaaand end spoilers.) Where did he go, and what did he discover? That’s The Missing Link. You’ll be fighting back against the group of Belltower agents that disabled Adam’s augmentations while also escaping from a freighter that’s going…well, somewhere. And you have no idea where. One of the best parts of this DLC is that you’ll be able to reassign Adam’s augmentations — good news for anyone who ever felt like they were “doing it wrong.” “We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to further develop Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link
