“Dragon Age 2″ makes its debut via GameInformer
As they have a tendency to do lately, the fine folks over at GameInformer have confirmed a new game via their latest cover. And this time, it’s BioWare’s Dragon Age 2, a sequel to the wildly-popular Dragon Age: Origins (and its various expansion packs). Click the image to go full-size. Unfortunately for a lot of fans of the game, BioWare has apparently chosen not to go the Mass Effect route here. That is to say – this is a brand-new game. That character you made the first time around? He or she is gone. Other improvements have been added, apparently, but you’ll have to wait to see what they are – assuming GameInformer hits your mailbox, anyway. On Dragon Age 2′s official website, we get even more info, right from BioWare. Here’s what they have to say about the new game: Experience the epic sequel to the 2009 Game of

“Leilana’s Song” DLC coming to “Dragon Age: Origins”
BioWare announced additional Dragon Age: Origins content for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC today. “Leliana’s Song” will cost $7 (or its Microsoft Points equivalent, ya know) and be available on July 6. You will play as Leliana, who, if you didn’t know, is in a criminal ring. Kind of a secretive environment. She’ll accompany her mentor, Marjolaine on a mission and end up in a situation that her good looks and charm just can’t get her out of. (Welcome to real life, honey.) Instead, she’ll have to kill…or be killed. The DLC has fully-voiced cinematics and a reward that transfers into the Awakening and Origins campaign.

BioWare’s fantasy RPG franchise Dragon Age will be taking on new life after the developer announced an agreement with FUNimation Entertainment today. FUNimation will be creating an anime feature based on the series for a home video release in 2011. Producers will include staff from both BioWare (EP Mark Darrah and Creative Director Mike Laidlaw) and FUNimation (CEO Gen Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes). “Anime is a great medium for us to continue the robust Dragon Age story,” said Darrah. “Partnering with FUNimation ensures that we are delivering the exceptional quality and entertainment value that our Dragon Age fans expect.” Dragon Age is only the first title in FUNimation’s Original Entertainment anime movie lineup. The co-production initiative was launched in November 2009. No word yet on whether other BioWare titles might get the same treatment.

Return to Ostagar, the twice delayed DLC for Dragon Age: Origins is FINALLY available. Not surprising, after the last delay, the DLC was leaked to some mixed reviews. Dragon Age: Origins Receives Mainstream Accessible Game of the Year Award
BioWare‘s epic RPG Dragon Age: Origins is AbleGamers.com’s 2009 pick for “Mainstream Accessible Game of the Year.” It received a 9.8/10 score for its bevy of options and graphics choices that make the game playable for gamers with disabilities. In fact, AbleGamers.com had only one criticism of the PC title (small font size), which was easily addressed by BioWare in an update. Dragon Age: Origins had the most impressive options out of any game this year, the organization said. BioWare included three levels of subtitles, gamers can pause the action during battle and issue commands on a delay instead of in real time, various control options are available for the camera and characters, and the game itself is even colorblind-friendly. The fact that all of the previous options are available and don’t hamper the gameplay is key. The accessibility options only enhance the gameplay for disabled gamers, and they don’t
