PDP announces E3 Product Line up.
E3 is like the Gamer’s Christmas. We learn about up coming games, developments and last but not least, gadgets for gaming. PDP announced it’s product line up for E3. And what a line up it is! Beautiful controllers, afterglow porducts, and even video game licenced merchandise. PDP offered the following products for viewing during E3 this year.: A new version of the Mortal Kombat Klassic Fightstick, The Afterglow controller and communicator, and My First Remote. Though the company has many other products including a number of licensed merchandise from, I will be focusing on the new gaming pads and controllers. To begin, PDP created a fightsticks controller for both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 styles. This is so that many players can experience the new Mortal Kombat game, in the classic arcade sense, with a joystick and six buttons. The redesign of the Mortal Kombat Klassic Fightstick also had

E3 Hands On: Sonic Generations and Sonic Sega Allstars Racing
A big part of the Sega booth at E3 this year was dedicated to everyone’s favorite speedy little blue hedgehog and his 20th anniversary. While there, I got to take a hands-on look at 2 new additions to the Sonic lineup that will be coming soon. The first title I got to take a look at was Sonic Generations, the latest in a classic Sonic style platformer for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo 3DS. I chose to try out the 3DS version and got to play through 2 levels in the new game. Generations is truly a “best of” collection of all of the most popular levels from the Sonic games throughout the years. You can choose to play as classic or modern Sonic, each with their own unique levels and styles of play. Even though the game has a huge nostalgia factor, someone like myself who is new

E3 Hands On Gadgets: with Nyko
Nyko Technologies is known for their lineup of chargers for various systems. Nyko always seems to offer products that solve issues gamers are having with their products but I believe their lineup at this year’s E3 has the best gaming accessories I have ever seen. The Nyko representatives were very understanding about how sick I felt. They got me into a room right away to start talking about their products. First up is the 3DS Power Grip. The 3DS Power Grip is very comfortable to hold in your hands. It’s smooth and does not feel like it adds any extra weight to the 3DS. The Power Grip has a built-in battery pack, which gives 3DS users 3x the battery life they normally would have. The 3DS Power Grip will be on sale this September for $29.99. The must have for 3DS users has to be the Shock n Rock

El Shaddai, Faxion and Planet Crashers at E3
The UTV Ignition booth at E3 held some of the most variety in an indie game booth that I saw this year. They are creating and/or publishing at least 10+ games right now that look nothing like each other on almost every platform from console, PC to iOS. In my visit to their booth, I got to see a closer look at three titles from UTV. The first game I saw is called El Shaddai. I’ll have to admit, El Shaddai looks nothing like anything I’ve played before. It is a Japanese-style single player, action console game for PS3 and Xbox 360. The thing that stood out to me most was the incredibly unique art style in this game. It has a very painterly, abstract art look with minimalist, stylized touches that made it visually stunning to see. The combat was a fast and flashy mix of action fighting game

Take a look at ‘Journey’ in thatgamecompany’s E3 trailer
thatgamecompany seems to have one common thread in all of its games, and that quality is that I have no idea what they’re actually about (apart from the title), but they sure do look pretty. This continues in their latest offering, Journey. It is presumably about a journey. A journey that is partially through a desert. And that art is…wow. All I can really recommend is that you watch this trailer to get a better sense of it, but you’ll probably come out just as dazed as I am. But in a really good way, I promise. Journey will have a release date assigned sometime in the future.

E3 First Look: Vindictus and Dragon Nest
This year at E3, I got to start out my week by visiting the booth of one of my personal favorite online game companies, Nexon. When people say that World of Warcraft is the largest MMO in the world or that free-to-play MMOs don’t make a profit, it is always fun to point to Nexon’s 350 million registered users and $45 million revenue. From what I understand, this is only their second year at E3 so while their booth wasn’t the biggest there, it was very nice and had a cozy lounge-like feel. The representatives from Nexon were also very accommodating and helpful. During my time spent at their booth I got to take a look at two games. The first thing I got to see was some updates coming to their already released action MMO, Vindictus. Vindictus is a game that, despite some issues, I’ve always really enjoyed. If

Nintendo President confused by Investor reactions during E3
Nintendo focused this year’s E3 on two things: 3DS and the announcement of Wii U. The Wii U won’t go on sale until next year and because of that specifics on the new console/controller were not announced. Perhaps this lead to the consumer confusion about the announcement because Nintendo shares fell almost 10 percent in two days after the press conference. “Honestly speaking, the reaction to (Tuesday’s) presentation and what I heard from people I met and the mood of the convention did not chime at all with what happened in the stock market,” Iwata said in an interview at the E3 games show in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “It’s very strange.” Iwata was quick to point out that people also doubted the Wii in 2006. The concept for the Wii U is to bring new gaming experiences to both casual and the more dedicated hard core gamers. “In the

E3 Hands On: Battlefield 3
E3 is one of the most impressive events for gaming on the planet. EA made sure that their booth was equally impressive. As you enter the South Hall of the LA Convention Center, the first thing you saw was the EA booth. Huge screens, very loud music (Crank your music to 11… now do it again, and you might get close) and enough shiny things to make anyone happy. I immediately went to the Battlefield 3 side of the booth. The line for attendees was long and winding. Some of the attendees complained about how they had spent 2 hours in the line, but they were not moving much. This was a game people wanted to see. The game promises to allow you to wage an all-out war as you step into the boots of Henry Black, a U.S Marine. You have to eliminate the deadly force known as the

Insomniac’s ‘OverStrike’ has a thing for collateral damage
Insomniac Games’ OverStrike is something I probably should have posted about by now. It’s a brand-new IP from the company, who you probably know more for games like Resistance and Ratchet & Clank. This time, they’re bringing their humor to a 4-person co-op action title. And the best part (well, as far as my opinion goes) is that they actually made the team 50-50 as far as the male/female balance goes. Hallelujah. Each member of the team appears to have his or her own specialty, which will make this even more fun. I can’t wait to see actual footage from this game, but for now, we’ll have to make do with the trailer shown by EA. Enjoy. Check out this lengthy ‘Far Cry 3′ walkthrough
Just in case you didn’t get to watch Ubisoft’s press conference earlier in the week, they’ve provided their demo for Far Cry 3 online. It’s sparsely narrated, and lets you really get into it. Well, assuming games like this are your thing. You play as a guy named Jason who soon has a reason to be very, very mad. And, given that this is an FPS, you’ve…you know. Got to kill everything. For justice! I don’t think I could ever get that mad. Hopefully you enjoy this…it’s over seven minutes long. Also, there’s quite a bit of language, so don’t watch this at work or around your kids.
