    2009 “Into the Pixel” Winners Announced

    The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, the Entertainment Software Association and the Prints & Drawings Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art have announced the winners for this years gifted group of video game artists. Those unlucky enough to have to choose the winners (I say unlucky because it would be hard to choose) included: Kevin Salatino, Curator and Department Head, Prints &  Drawings, Los Angeles County Museum of Art Louis Marchesano, Curator of Prints & Drawings, Getty Museum Glenn Phillips, Consulting Curator, Department of Contemporary Programs & Research, Getty Research Institute Kiki Wolfkill, Executive Producer, Microsoft Game Studios Jeremy Bennett, Artist,Valve Corporation Jason Manley, President, Massive Black Stephan Martiniere, Artist, ID Software Peter Raad, Professor & Executive Director, Guildhall at SMU Thomas Haegele, Professor & Institute Director, Filmakademie Bader-Wurttemberg GmbH Below are a couple of the pieces chosen for this years collection: To view them all

    ESA gears up for E3 picks contest winner

    The ESA is gearing up for E3 2009 taking place June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. While it’s not open to the general public, more people will be there this year than last year. “This year’s E3 Expo has garnered overwhelming support from members, exhibitors, attendees and media. We anticipate a blockbuster show fully-loaded with industry news, unveilings, introductions and announcements that will continue to drive our industry forward,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). The ESA is the trade association that represents the U.S. computer and video game publishers and owns the E3 Expo.” The ESA also announced the winning t-shirt design above is from Christine Sununu from New Hampshire. The winning design will be sold at E3 and a portion of the proceeds goes to Midnight Mission. For those that aren’t afraid of needles there will be a blood

    E3 2009 Floorplans released

    I don’t know whether to be excited or already overwhelmed! The ESA has released the floorplans for E3 this year. I have already downloaded them to go over your Gamingangels.com E3 team, but the one thing I can say is, “wow”! The maps show outlines of booths that are pretty big. Which definitely reminds us of the old E3. The South and West halls are pretty full and the second floor does seem to have alot of meeting rooms. I’m so excited for E3 this year and from these maps, I am certain of one thing…comfortable shoes!
