Fight like a girl, and you help fight breast cancer
The Fight Like a Girl tournament is running for the sixth time later this month, and founders Kari Toyama and Tasha Pettengill need your help to make it another tournament to remember. Last year’s tournament raised over $7,000, and we want that record smashed. There are five different Halo: Reach events — 2v2 Slayer (Double Elimination), FFA Slayer (Single Elimination), 4v4 Team (Single Elimination), Team Firefight Score Attack and Solo Firefight Score Attack. Here’s the event schedule: Friday, October 21 – Team and Solo Firefight Score Attack Saturday, October 22 – 2v2 Slayer, Team and Solo Firefight Score Attack continued Sunday, October 23 – 4v4 Team, FFA Slayer, Last chance to submit scores for Team and Solo Firefight Score Attack How do you participate? By signing up for events at http://www.flagtournament.com. All events are $10 per person, so for instance, a four-person team event will cost the team $40.

MomoCon 2011: Wrapping up the peach con
In Japanese, the word “momo” means “peach.” On March 15 – 16, the word “momo” took on a completely different meaning as thousands of anime, gaming and science fiction fanatics met on Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta for MomoCon 2011. Since its birth in 2005, MomoCon has quickly become one monster of a convention, with attendance jumping from 700 to about 8,000 people from 2005 to 2010. The reason? MomoCon is absolutely free to attend and offers a cram-packed weekend of all the geekdom you could ever ask for. However, the word “free” also means, “register now” as you will may be caught in expansive lines to get a badge. Events: Boredom was never an issue at MomoCon. With the vast amount of panels, performances and special events taking place throughout Saturday and Sunday, I usually found something interesting to do. Ümloud! 2010 is coming, register to rock ASAP
Ümloud 2010 is a Rock Band night designed to benefit Child’s Play, a charity started by Penny Arcade’s founders that provides games and other fun items to children’s hospitals across the United States. This year’s event, led by Chris Kohler (Wired.com), Joe Markert (Gamehelper) and John “Seg” Seggerson (Telltale Games), will take place at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco on December 9, 2010. The venue will be outfitted with a full Rock Band stage with all the latest Rock Band 3 gear, not to mention a giant set list to choose from, all thanks to Harmonix. A $10 fee is charged for entry to the 18+ venue.
