This week’s OGOTW is an interesting match 3/puzzle in which little “pickies” are placed on the board to make a complete line and disappear. Mouse controlled, simply click to place strategically. The next few in the lineup are shown in the top left corner. In the top right corner, there are little helper pickies. The ninja takes a pickie off the board and the others match the pickies on either side. The point of the game is to keep at least one spot open on the board until the percentage bar in the middle is filled (based on the number of matches made). Enjoy!

Featured Facebook Game of the Week – The Dating Game In Game Contest Alert

In case it’s not apparent, I have a thing for TV game shows new and old turned Facebook games. The Dating Game is no exception. In an interesting adaptation, players have both a male and a female avatar they can host or play games with. Like most Facebook games, the more people playing it, the more fun it is. There are two types of games; one that’s finished within 30 minutes, and one that’s finished within 7 days (for the more patient of us). When hosting a game, the choice is available as to which type of game to play. With the quick game, panelists are assigned, and the game begins. With the longer game, the host chooses options such as what gender avatar, player, and whether or not people who aren’t “friends” on Facebook can play. It seems as though when becoming a panelist, players don’t choose the type of game to play. There is the possibility to choose the type of host, however, when searching for a game to play. Keep in mind that it’s only possible to be a panelist on 3 games at a time.

Now on to the contest! In tribute to the number of celebrities that appeared on The Dating Game throughout its television days, 3G Studios announced today the “Celebrity Look-Alike Avatar Contest” for players of The a href=”http://www.datinggame.com/” target=”_new”>Dating Game across all its social platforms. Players have the chance to earn in-game prizes of points and hearts by creating – and voting on – avatars in The Dating Game that closely resemble some of the famous celebrities that appeared on the TV series, such as Farrah Fawcett, Tom Selleck, Michael Jackson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many more.

Here’s how it works:
“Once players are satisfied with the appearance of their celebrity avatar, they must post the avatar to The Dating Game fan page on the social networking site that they frequent. After doing so, other players can vote on the best avatars by trying to guess which celebrity the avatar depicts. Players who guess correctly will be rewarded in-game points that can be used to host games, win “dates” by giving more sensational gifts and snazz up their own avatars. A Grand Prize of 10 hearts, (premium currency of The Dating Game), and 1500 points will be awarded to the best celebrity look-alike avatar. Additionally, only on Facebook, the avatar that receives the most “likes” will win five hearts and 750 points.”

Maybe this week’s OGOTW should be called Angry Pudding. Being someone without an iPhone or iPad, I have not been caught up in the Angry Birds craze, but after playing this game for a little while, I can see where the fascination comes from. In Pudding Strike, pile little blobs of various puddings into a slingshot and destroy the evil puddings (who actually look a little more like purple jello) who have tolen their princess. Power through jelly drops, chocolate, cookies, and nother various sweet delights to destroy the evil puddings! Enjoy!

This week’s OGOTW is dedicated to my plumber of a husband who’s birthday is on Monday. This one is a little variation on the classic pipes game. The object is to get all the steam pumps popping by using the pieces on the board to form a nice network. The positive here is that it seems as though there aren’t a lot of useless pieces to busy your mind and get in the way. Click to twist the pieces and advance when they all start pumping. Get ‘em all going before time runs out! Enjoy!

When I moved to Portland, I was left with a lot of time on my hands in the beginning and I started playing this game called Bloons. I was hooked for weeks, and now I have found a way to bring the Bloons fun to GamingAngels with Bloons 2! This is a whole new set of balloon popping puzzles as you navigate your way through the island. Shoot the balloons with your arrow using the mouse to gauge the power. Pop at least the goal amount of balloons to move on to the next level. It’s addicting, so don’t forget to eat, drink some water, sleep, brush your teeth…

This week’s OGOTW takes me back to Tetris days, not with shapes, just brilliantly colored robots. For me, it’s as addicting as tetris, and is a great stress busting match 3. Arrow key or mouse controlled, with two modes, this game has a lot to offer! Enjoy!

Online Game of the Week – Thanksgiving Kitchen Hero

I know the holidays and Thanksgiving can be a stressful time – especially in the kitchen! So this week’s OGOTW is all about an air hockey style food fight where you shoot your pumpkins at the turkeys to try to get them into your opponent’s goal, as they are shooting pumpkin pies your way. Just click anywhere to shoot pumpkins in that direction and make an enormous mess that you don’t have to clean up!

It’s 90 seconds of monkey mayhem where the goal is to feed the monkeys bananas by getting the banana bunches to the bottom of the screen by matching monkey heads. I have actually been wanting to put up this week’s OGOTW for a long time (ever since it lost my Pinball/Frogger debate). This is one of the better pinball games I have found to play online. It’s pretty accurate with the flippers and it has a bunch of fun ways to score. Enjoy!

OnlineGame of the Week – Xemidux Halloween

This week will be the last Halloween game. It’s a simple version of matching where you click on clusters of two or more to make them disappear and keep the column from reaching the top (sort of like PopCap’s Big Money). I like the Halloween icons in this one, but mostly if you play it with the sound on it’s actually really creepy. Excellent for putting us in the Halloween mood! Enjoy!
