First-ever In-game Footage From “The Secret World” Released
Today, FunCom released the first-ever in-game footage from their new MMO, The Secret World. The video below features footage highlighting Kingsmouth, a small New England town that has developed a bit of a….shall we say, problem. This grainy, black-and-white footage is the culmination of an alternate reality game put together by FunCom which ultimately led over 250,000 FunCom community members to discover Kingsmouth, the small town in the video. Actual gameplay should be revealed at the Game Developers Conference in March.

Age of Conan awarded “Most Improved Game of 2009″
MMORPG.com has announced Funcom’s ‘‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’’ their ‘Most Improved Game of 2009’ award for the work done to expand and enhance its massively multiplayer online game since launch. The website chose ‘Age of Conan’ over titles such as ‘World of Warcraft’ and ‘Lord of the Rings Online’, pointing to the additions of brand new content and features as reasons why the game received the prestigious award. Funcom has launched over five free updates to ‘Age of Conan’ since its launch in 2008. These updates have added new world regions, dungeons, features and technology enhancements. Through the free updates players have been able to explore legendary locations such as Ymir’s Pass and Tarantia Commons, not to mention dungeons such as Xibaluku, The Amphitheatre and The Iron Tower. Play Age of Conan Free – Forever*
Funcom announced today that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures will be available to play for free for anyone that downloads and installs, and registers their game before January 1st, 2010. Players will be able to enjoy all of the first 20 levels – the entire Island of Tortage experience – without ever having to upgrade to a paid account. The Unlimited Free Trial is only going to be available as a special holiday offer until January 1st. Funcom hosting one-hour live event for upcoming Conan Expansion
Funcom announced they are teaming up with Xfire to give a live demonstration of the upcoming expansion for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. Rise of the Godslayer is the new expansion that will air on Monday, December 7 at 12pm PST/3pm EST. Age of Conan invites gamers to come back and play for free
Funcom is trying to entice gamers to come back and play “Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures”. Previously active players can come back and play free of charge for two weeks. They will also get a double exp boost during the free period. Allowing the player to level pretty quickly. Another incentive is that players that play past the free period can get guaranteed access to the beta test for The Secret World. Halloween celebrations hit Age of Conan
Today Funcom released a new patch for Age of Conan entitled “Nights of Lost Souls.” This update brings some fun seasonal content to the game right in time for Halloween and also introduces the new Veteran Points system for long time players of AoC. “It being that time of year, we employed a few tricks to provide our players with some special treats,” says Craig Morrison, Game Director and Executive Producer on `Age of Conan’. “In this update we have added new seasonal in-game content where players will have to progress through three brand new quest lines and get to challenge the dark and mysterious ghosts of Hyboria’s fallen warriors in order to collect the seasonal rewards. New Screenshots from Funcom’s The Secret World and News from PAX
The Secret World’ is Funcom’s third MMO and features a unique modern-day setting. Players will be able to discover real world locations such as New York, London and Seoul as they battlethe forces of evil together with thousands of players from around the world. ‘The Secret World’ uses no classes or levels, thus giving theplayer complete freedom of choice when creating and developing his or her alter-ego. I got a chance to sit down with some of the nice guys from Funcom, and designers for The Secret World while I was at PAX this past weekend. Funcom has released a new trailer and beautiful artwork for their MMO “The Secret World”. The concept art is absolutely beautiful. The illustrations cover the three secret societies – the Illuminati, the Dragon, and the Templars. While the game is only available to media at PAX, we should be getting screenshots from the actual game soon. Age of Conan expansion announced
Funcom has announced the first expansion for their popular MMO Age of Conan entitled Rise of the Godslayer. This new expansion, inspired the culture of eastern Asia, will send players on a journey to the Empire of Khitai with a new storyline, faction gameplay and an alternate advancement system. The new storyline tells the tale of the downward spiral of the Empire after the actions taken by a young Conan.
