Silva’s not my favorite fighter, but he is unbeaten and overall the entire UFC experience would be amazing. I’ll stick with Mir when I play UFC Undisputed 3.

Two big moves in the tablet gaming space for one game retailer have been confirmed today.

GameStop has selected an Android tablet model to serve as their “official” gaming platform next year. These tablet models will launch with some titles pre-installed.

“We’re in test phase right now,” GameStop president Tony Bartel told GamesIndustry.biz. “But we’re excited at the prospect of coming out with this tablet. I would call it a ‘GameStop certified gaming platform.’ We looked at all the tablets and these are the ones that really worked for gaming and we’re going to give you a few benefits that you’re not going to get elsewhere.”

Gears of War 3 is easily up there in terms of games that we are excited for. So it’s very exciting when GameStop writes to say that they are having a huge giveaway where our readers can win a variety of prizes.

The “Go Commando” Sweepstakes started last week. GameStop is giving away more than 3,600 commando-worthy prizes now through Oct. 3 in this sweepstakes created exclusively for GameStop pre-order customers.

So how do you enter to win? Gamers can pre-order the game and on the receipt will be a code. Enter the code at http://www.gamestop.com/gearsofwar for a chance to win. Enter once a day for a chance to win.

In accordance with FTC regulations, GamingAngels received the product from GameStop to give away.

Based on an email sent from Field Manager Josh Ivanoff (you can see an edited version of it above), some stores have been ordered to remove vouchers for a free OnLive copy of the game.

At the moment, Ivanoff hasn’t responded to calls from multiple outlets, but GameStop representative Beth Sharum has confirmed the practice, telling OnLive Spot that “Square Enix packed the competitor’s coupon with our Deus Ex: Human Revolution product without our prior knowledge and we did pull and discard these coupons.”

Note that this isn’t a chain-wide practice, but such a policy even being enforced is really shady.

GameStop does have their reasoning, though — as reported in March, GameStop has purchased both digital download service Impulse as well as Spawn Labs’ streaming technology. You know they’re about to get into the streaming ring with OnLive.

Removing these coupons may prove to be their first punch.
