“Gears of War 2″ Triple Experience Weekend and All Fronts Discount

The sixth update for Gears of War 2 is available on Xbox LIVE today. This update introduces the “Social Matches” feature, which lets you jump in and out of games without disruption, even if it’s a Horde match. Your party can join a game already in progress if there’s one that suits your fancy. The update also contains other improvements. Gears 3 to Be the End of Its Series, Scheduled For April 2011

The conclusion to one of this generation’s most memorable trilogies is coming. And, like my allergies, it comes in the spring. Gears of War 3 is the finale of one of the biggest Xbox franchises, and you can have it in your hands about a year from now (April 5, 2011 for the US, and April 8 for Europe). The last human city has been destroyed. Any survivors have been stranded. Marcus Fenix sure doesn’t have a lot of time to save them – and the human race – from extinction. Pop Star Who Must Not Be Named Ruins Gears 3 Announcement, but Cliffy Has a Back-Up Plan

So, Cliff Bleszinski was supposed to reveal Gears of War 3 last night on Jimmy Fallon. But, unfortunately, he just didn’t make it on. Also unfortunately, Gears of War 3 still made it on the Xbox Dashboard this morning. Oopsie! Someone forgot to flip a switch. So, what caused the tiny slipup? A certain young Canadian pop star, if you ask GeekSugar. In order to accomodate his oh-so-busy schedule, Jimmy Fallon producers bumped Cliffy B in favor of *sigh* Justin Bieber. (Note: Cliffy himself said that they wanted to take some more time to “polish” what they were showing, but it’s still more fun to Blame Bieber.) Now, he’s coming on the show Monday, but not without something to show. Now we know about Gears 3, but Cliffy’s got TWO things to show now! What could the second thing be? “Boom” indeed, sir.

Bethesda Announces inXile’s “Hunted: The Demon’s Forge”

Man, everyone at Bethesda must be pretty busy right now. They’re already publishing Rage, Brink and Fallout: New Vegas, and now we’ve got another title to add to the mix: Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, by inXile Entertainment. Hunted is a co-op third-person action title for 360, PlayStation 3, and PC that uses the Unreal 3 engine, just like your BioShock and Gears of War titles – not like Bethesda’s other titles you know (Oblivion, Fallout 3); those use the Gamebryo engine. That in itself is interesting. (Though the fact that this isn’t an Obsidian title like those two games are has a lot to do with it.) You’ll essentially be crawling dungeons with two mercenaries: E’lara and Caddoc. The former is a ranged weapons expert, the latter a master swordsman. Toy Fair 2010

This was my first year being able to attend Toy Fair in New York City, so I was very excited as you could probably expect. Toy Fair is the opportunity where various toy companies, both big and small, come to showcase what they have and what they plan to release in the coming year. There’s a great variety from toys for kids to board games to collectable figures. It’s the perfect chance for the media and dealers to check out all of the new trends and upcoming toys. Taking up the entire Javits Center, it was one huge show and you really need a game plan to make your way through the show floors. Gears of War 2: Dark Corners, All Fronts now available

Major Nelson has announced that the Dark Corners Multiplayer Map pack and All Fronts Collection for Gears of War 2 have arrived on Xbox Live this morning. Dark Corners have 7 new multiplayer maps and a bonus deleted single-player chapter, “Road to Ruin”. In that chapter Marcus and Dom navigate the Locust highway. The 7 maps include: a new War Machine, the Gears 1 map Allfathers Garden, a heavy-weapons battle at a COG landmark; Highway, a fight in the Locust Hollow; Memorial, a battle at the Tomb of the Unknowns; Nowhere, a firefight in an old motel; Way Station, a battlefield with parallel paths; and Sanctuary, a re-imagined favorite from Gears for Windows. GoW 2 Community Night Winners Announced

Hey everyone!  The day and prizes are finally here, so I can happily announce all the winners from our Gears of War 2 Community Night winners.  We had so many great names submitted for prizes – more than double the amount of prizes we have.  Before I announce the winners, let me explain how I picked them.  First, after all the names were gather from both the participating GamingAngels and the Gamer Beauties, I gave each gamertag a number.  Then, using Random.org, I generated 24 (the number of prizes we have!) numbers.  If one number showed up twice, I generated a new number.  HOWEVER, if a name got submitted to the list twice because you played with different GA or GB girls throughout the night, and both of the numbers I assigned you showed up on the list, then you’ll be up for two prizes!  We love it when people

Gears of War 2 Community Playdate

Since we had such a blast last time, we’re going to do it again! GamingAngels is hosting another Gears of War 2 community playdate on July 17th.
