    Review: Green Day Rock Band

I was a huge fan of The Beatles Rock Band, so I was stoked when Green Day Rock Band was announced. Sadly this band specific version of Rock Band was a bit of a letdown. Rating: T for Teen Genre: Rhythm Game Number of Players: Multiplayer Publisher: MTV Games/Harmonix Release Date: June 8, 2010 RENT I’ve been a Green Day fan since the ’90s. They were a staple of what I liked to listen to back then, and even now. “Dookie” and “Nimrod” are still two of my favorite albums, so for half the game I was stoked. If you’ve played Rock Band, there isn’t much different to learn with regards to the controls and how the play style goes. The graphics are done nice, and the opening video was well done. Full Tracklisting for Green Day: Rock Band

When Harmonix announced “Green Day: Rock Band,” we all had one question – what songs are going to be on it? They didn’t let that information out immediately, but Entertainment Weekly is one of the first to get their mitts on the game’s full tracklisting. Two complete albums, “Dookie” and “American Idiot,” are included, and after buying DLC that was available previously in the Rock Band Music Store, you also get the full “21st Century Breakdown.” (They didn’t want to include music people might own already.) This is the first Rock Band game to feature so many complete albums in the full game. A smattering of other Green Day hits also made the list. Want the full list? Scroll down to see it, sorted by in-game location. Green Day Rock Band to hit shelves in 2010

Following on the heels of the great success with The Beatles: Rock Band, MTV and Harmonix have recently released info that they have developed their second special edition of Rock Band featuring Green Day. Green Day: Rock Band is set to be released sometime in 2010 for the Xbox, PS3 and Wii. “We’ve worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we’re excited to now be working on a game, spanning our entire career,” Billie Joe Armstrong said in a statement. “We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks, and play along with us as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it’s like to perform onstage as Green Day.” The game will play similar to The Beatles: Rock Band where it will put players in venues and arenas that
