Call of Duty franchise reaches 55 Million in sales
By now we all know that Modern Warfare 2 has sold incredibly well, but NPD Group estimates have shown that the Call of Duty Series has amazing figures as well. The series has surpassed 55 million unit sales to date worldwide. That figure means that they have taken in $3 billion in retail sales. “Call Of Duty has become one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “If you consider the number of hours our audiences are engaged in playing Call of Duty games, it is likely to be one of the most viewed of all entertainment experiences in modern history.”

Modern Warfare 2 keeps the top spot in UK Sales
Nintendo is very popular with UK Games and even with brand new titles on the top 20, none of them were powerful enough to take down the reign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The Infinity Ward title continues to hold onto the number one spot making us only guess at how much money it’s brought in to date. Assassin’s Creed II entered in the number 2 spot followed by New Super Mario Bros. Wii (3), Wii Sports Resort (4), and Wii Fit Plus (5). Zombie killing, Left 4 Dead 2 entered the countdown at number 7. The top publisher this week is Nintendo with 5 games, but EA is right behind them with 4.

Modern Warfare 2 now available and helping Veterans
Activision and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now out at retail stores everywhere. Many retailers had huge launch events at midnight for the game. “From day one the goal was to bring our fans around the world the most riveting and authentic experience we’ve ever created in Modern Warfare 2,” said Vince Zampella, CEO of Infinity Ward. “Every design from the smallest detail was crafted to place gamers in the center of their own epic, action movie — with the suspense, excitement and adrenaline as if they were starring themselves.” “By all indicators, we anticipate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we’ve taken for the game is the highest for any title we’ve ever sold in our 6,200 store network,” said Tony Bartel, executive vice president, merchandising and marketing,

Guest Review: Uncharted 2
ESRB: T for Teen System: PS3 Genre: Action-Adventure Number of Players: One to Four Developer: Naughty Dog Release Date: Oct 13, 2009 BUY When a sequel is released, it travels through one of three roads. One: it can fall far below its predecessor into a void of abysmal proportions. Two: the sequel can play it safe and remain in the realm of decent mediocrity. Or three: hopefully, it can surpass the firstborn to become a gem in its own right. Suffice it to say, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, falls in the third category. Yes, I’ve jumped on the bandwagon with scores of other reviewers and gamers to give Naughty Dog a huge pat on the back. To give some perspective, I played through Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and enjoyed it well enough. It certainly wasn’t my game of the year, but it was fun while the game play lasted. Fast forward

Avatar items coming for Modern Warfare 2
Your Xbox 360 avatar will be able to get into the Modern Warfare 2 mood with items provided by Infinity Ward. Rob Bowling recently twittered that the avatar items most likely won’t be in the form of Avatar Rewards but will be in the Avatar marketplace. Bowling hopes that it will be free. “Not sure we’ll be doing any Avatar rewards, but we are making avatar items. With some free ones hopefully.” Modern Warfare 2 is out on November 10 for the PS3 and 360. A British paper, the Daily Star, is a bit late to the game, calling out Infinity Ward for providing tools for “peeping toms” and making gaming fans a “army of ogling pervs”. Their reason for making these claims are two comments left on game sites about the Prestige Pack’s night vision goggles.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will always be free
There have been rumors floating around that Modern Warfare 2 might have online charges. But Infinity Ward is quick to stop that rumor. This rumor has absolutely nothing to do with Infinity Ward or our games, including Modern Warfare 2,” said the developer’s communications boss, Rob Bowling, speaking on the firm’s forums. “We would never introduce such a system for Modern Warfare 2 so don’t worry. “Multiplayer will always be equal and free for everyone as always.” See don’t always listen to rumors.
