Now Kagome and Inuyasha must work together to search for the scattered shards of the jewel before everyone’s nightmares are given the power they need to come true.

Don’t blame me though – it’s VIZ’s fault, but considering they keep on bringing out so many great releases it’s not exactly easy to keep yourself from being greedy!

This time we have vampires, ghosts, crime drama and teenage angst awaiting us. I won’t hold back – so what’s in store?

VIZ Signature releases include:

Children of the sea, Vol. 1 (available now) and Vol. 2 (available December 15, pictured – top right)

When Ruka was younger, she saw a ghost in the water at the aquarium where her dad works. Now she feels drawn toward the aquarium and the two mysterious boys she meets there, Umi and Sora. They were raised by dugongs and hear the same strange calls from the sea as she does. Ruka’s dad and the other adults who work at the aquarium are only distantly aware of what the children are experiencing as they get caught up in the mystery of the worldwide disappearance of the oceans’ fish. CHILDREN OF THE SEA is a surreal and riveting aquatic adventure from Daisuke Igarashi. Igarashi was given the Award of Excellence by the Japan Cartoonists Association in 2009.

In Volume 1, what begins with a college dropout bored of her mediocre routine soon becomes a fantastic series of stories about the unexpected ways that different lives intersect. Filled with magical realism in the face of the cold reality of daily modern life, at their core these stories are about young people discovering something precious amidst the chaos of existence. Volume 2 continues to explore similar themes including the cruelty of childhood, the delusion of adulthood, the endurance of death and how people find a way to remain resolute and laugh in the face of reality.

The long running and extremely popular series about a girl who can travel between worlds via the well in her yard and the demon she frees from a cursed arrow, INUYASHA, joins the broadcasting internet phenomenon today. INUYASHA is by far the most well-known of Rumiko Takahashi’s works. Based on the 56 volume manga that ran from November 1996 until June of 2008, the 167 episode anime will begin its Hulu streaming today with the first 32 episodes available. Each week more episodes will be added to the online catalogue.

Also coming to Hulu this week are NANA, two girls who share the same name but come from completely different worlds, and Honey & Clover, a romantic comedy involving an art group and the girl who enters their world and complicates it. Both of these anime series are based on manga series and have become successful franchises.

Sorry for the belatedness! My computer’s been acting wonky.

Anyway, just as we spent Friday, we spent the Saturday morning in line for David Hayter. This time for an autograph! We were nowhere near close to the front of the line, despite being there 2 hours before even line-up time should have begun and we still had at least 4 hours ahead of us. As soon as they moved us into the Artist Alley where the real line was, some guy in line started blasting mem songs (ie: Rick Astley, Numa Numa…). I happened to have it on my iPod, so I made him play “Snake Eater” which made my day, strangely.

We met alot of awesome people in that line. We also met up with some friends who we were looking for for two days. Holla to the cool people who chatted with us about Metal Gear and Pokemon! We also met Mr. Hayter’s friend “Eric” (see future posting of David Hayter panel footage.)

We waited in line for what seemed like forever, if not for the small conversations about random stuff, I would have been passed out on the floor sleeping. He started blasting thru the line about an hour into signing the autographs and I was sure we wouldn’t get an autograph. But as AWESOME a person as Mr. Hayter is, he stayed there until every person (as far as I know) at least got to meet him. We got the special edition of the MGS4 strat. guide lithograph and the cover of MGS4 autographed, as well as some of our friend’s things, despite them limiting the sessions to 1 autograph each.

Ah well, it was a dream to talk to him, too bad all I could say was THANK YOU for staying.

After that fiasco we went with friends to the Exhibit Hall again. Funny story… guess who we saw? One of the guys in front of us we were chatting with! He told us he was disapointed that we wouldn’t be able to meet him and he didn’t want to waste his time, so he left the line. We felt so bad when we told him that he autographed everything… he looked like he was going to cry.

At the exhibit hall, we checked out the new Naruto and Soul Calibur games. Got some footage of us actually playing too! (will hopefully be up soon) We got away with 2 Palkia and Dialga figures, a Knuckles, Link and Kirby plushie. I got a pair of the cutest Katamari earrings and the Shikon no Tama replica from InuYasha. We got a pair of Yu-gi-oh! Abridged shirts at a small gaming booth, along with a Paper Mario and Four Swords shirt for him, and a Kirby and L (DeathNote) shirt for me.

They were also having a mini-concert at the Circus booth next to the Bandai one we were playing at.

We also stopped by the artist alley and spotted our own Chalcedony selling her wonderful crafts. We ended up leaving with a few badges from scuttlebutt.com.

I’ll take a group pic of all the AX schwag in the future.

We ended up hitting some of the most interesting panels on that day. We hit a Disgaea panel, where they talked about the new Disgaea game (which looks amazing!) where they added new features to about every single aspect of the gameplay possible. They also displayed a new title that looked very good called “Witch’s Tale” I reccommend this game for anyone who liked the art style in Folklore. It was a very cartoony version of that game.

Next we hit the Funimation panel where they read off the laundry list of anime they’ve aquired, including the lost title from poor ‘ol Geneon “Hellsing Ultimate”. Therefore the rest of the panel was fans thanking Funi for being the saving grace of anime. Which is well deserved in my opinion.

The next thing we did was hop in line for the “L: Change the World” movie, like 2 hours early. (And I’m glad we did, people were literally fighting for a spot in the theater.) Shout out to the people who kept me company in DS chat (Yo Dre and blakmajik! lol) This movie was in fact a work of pure fan lovin’ genius. I was very satisfied with the movie, though it was terribly spoileriffic for anyone who didn’t know how the series ended. There were some parts where the crowd was literally on their feet with excitement. I must say to anyone who just says to themselves “I’ll see it next time” at a con, you will enjoy it X10 surrounded by fans of the series.

Since I didn’t have to worry about Q&A with Q&J, we went home after that I think.

I hope I got all the details right, it was a week ago after all! Again sorry for being so late on the coverage and I hope to have vids and pics up soon!

Thanks for reading!
