New EA Active Coming This Fall

Electronic Arts announced yesterday that EA Sports Active 2.0 (working title, probably) will be available this fall for Wii, PS3, and iPod Touch/iPhone. A new motion detection system and heart rate monitor will make this the most advanced workout title yet. The new wireless motion detector will include arm and leg straps (much like the Wii’s current setup – not sure at the moment whether you’ll be forced to buy new peripherals for the Wii version) and also a wireless heart monitor. (Those are in the picture over there.) Your heart rate will constantly be monitored on-screen and be tracked over time. All that tracking is put to use on the EA Active online hub, where you’ll be able to share your data as well as form workout groups and send messages back and forth. I sense another GamingAngels 90 Day Challenge on the way shortly after this drops.

    CES 2009: iHome Capsule Speakers

iHome Capsule Speakers Review The Capsule Speakers from iHome are small. So small that when you put them together, and click them shut, they fit in a small bag that can fit in your pocket. That means when you take your iPod or iPhone somewhere with you – you can take the speakers along. This makes sharing your music an easy task. Now, the size of the speakers themselves can be sort of unassuming. You don’t expect to get much sound out of them. But when you pull them apart, plug them in, and pop up the tops of each speaker you get a lot of bang for your small speaker buck. So the “Capsule” what does that mean exactly? Well each speaker is about an inch an half tall when they’re tucked down, they lock together magnetically at the bottom to form what looks like a long black capsule.

Nike + iPod experience coming to a gym near you

If you walk into any gym, you’ll see people working out with some form of an iPod on them. Either on their arm, or carrying in their hand, iPods are a staple to people working out. So it makes common sense that Nike would team up with Apple to create cardio equipment so that health club members can easily track workouts. Nike +iPod users will be able to plug their iPod nano into the equipment at the start of the workout and it automatically records your progress. Then you can connect the same iPod to your home computer to upload the workout to www.nikeplus.com. “The Nike + iPod experience revolutionized running. Now we’re revolutionizing the gym cardio experience,” said Trevor Edwards, Nike’s Vice President of Global Brand and Category Management. “We’re enabling people who go to the gym an opportunity to set goals, track progress, and compete in challenges with
