Get your first look at ‘Minecraft’ for Xbox 360 at MineCon

Attention Minecraft fanatics: You probably already know that the builder’s dream of a game is coming to Xbox 360 next spring.

What you might not have known is that your first peek at the XBLA build of the game is a lot closer than you think.

The Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game will be playable for the first time at Mojang’s MineCon event, taking place November 18-19 in Las Vegas. This event is not only a convention, but also the official launch of the PC version of the game.

Microsoft has stepped up as a sponsor of the event — kind of a big deal.

Harrah’s, along with MTV Games, are holding the 2nd Annual Total Rock, Total Rewards Rock Band Competition.

Five Harrah’s casinos will host special Rock Band Nights, along with 15 other venues that will host Rock Band Bar Nights from May 1 to June 13. The top scorers from each event will be invited to compete in the final competition at Bally’s in Atlantic City, with the winners receiving $10,000 and a chance to meet Ringo Starr.

Harrahs.com will also be holding their own online competition in which the grand prize will be a private flight to the final stage of the competition.

Sony Fan Faire Dates Announced, Event Nets You Sneak Peeks and Tournaments

This year’s Sony Fan Faire will be at Bally’s Las Vegas from August 5-8. That’s three days of fun, catching special announcements and sneak peeks, and like game-themed competitions. They also feature developer roundtables and giveaways.

BlizzCon may be in Vegas next year!

BlizzCon has outgrown Anaheim Convention Center. Every year many more people attempt to get tickets to BlizzCon but end up not getting in. It looks like Blizzard may be looking to correct that with next year’s BlizzCon.

WoW.com found on the Vegas Convention website that Blizzard has reserved for BlizzCon 2010 in Las Vegas July 30th and 31st. Viva Las Vegas! The new space can hold 30,000 instead of Anaheim’s 20,000.

Blizzard has yet to announce the venue, but I would bet on it being in Vegas next year! You know GamingAngels will be there to get all the coverage!

UPDATE: Blizzard has added this official response which isn’t so surprising:
“We haven’t announced any details regarding our next BlizzCon, so please refrain from making any travel plans at this time.”

UPDATE #2: Update 12:30 p.m. PST, 11-13-09: The LVCC has retracted their statement. LVCC is saying that it was human error and the confirmation they gave was false. There was a hold placed because they were talking to Blizzard but the hold was made a reservation by accident.
