Well, you’ve got a less than a year to get your travel plans set.

The Entertainment Software Association announced today that next year’s E3 will be at the LA Convention Center from June 7-9, 2011.

This year’s event had over 45,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors over the course of the three-day expo, so you can expect similar participation at next year’s event.

“E3 Expo is the global stage for the interactive entertainment industry, and the 2010 show was reflective of our innovation, growth and vitality,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of the ESA, the trade association that represents U.S. computer and video game publishers and owns the E3 Expo. “We are thrilled by the positive news generated by this year’s show, and we are looking forward to building on this great momentum for 2011.”

What does it entail? Well, the first one million people on PS3 and Xbox 360 to download the multiplayer demo amounts to a $20,000 charity donation from Capcom to Music for Relief. If another 500,000 people download the demo (making 1.5 million downloads), Capcom will donate another $5,000.

The early access to the beta (through www.lostplanetcommunity.com and various blogs) started yesterday, and this promotion is running until May 5.

Capcom is also holding a pre-launch party in Los Angeles on May 6 to celebrate Lost Planet 2′s May 11 release. If you can make it, an invite list is being set up on a first-come, first-served basis at www.capcom-unity.com later this month. The party will include a celebrity tournament (participants announced at a later date), with the winning team deciding which Music for Relief cause gets the demo download fund.

Capcom is also holding a competition for a seat in the tournament and a trip to LA for the launch party starting today. How do you enter? Submit your best tips and tricks for beating the demo to Capcom Unity! Four winners will be chosen.

“There Will Be Brawl” fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat – there is going to be a wrap party, and you’re invited!

If you don’t know about the web series, let me clue you in. The series is a dark parody of the Smash Bros. games, and you get to see Mario and friends come to life to once again. The premise of the series has Mario, Luigi and Peach trying to protect the Mushroom Kingdom (as always) and solve some grisly crimes that have taken place. I have to warn you that the series is definitely NSFW, and is also not intended for anyone under the age of 17.

As I said earlier, the TWBB people will be holding a wrap party to commemorate the end of the series, and to thank their cast and crew, but they also want their fans to join in on the fun! The venue will be Club Good Hurt, where I hear they have the staff cosplaying while they work – something that the TWBB crew are fans of themselves. There will be plenty of drinking and dancing, as well as opportunities to have photos with some of the cast if you so wish.

“We wanted a way to raise the glass to our dedicated cast and crew, as well as invite fans of the show to come out and be able to chat with all of us about the project. We think this will be a fun event not only for gamers and cosplayers, but just anyone who wants to see some great performances and dance to the sets from our amazing DJs,” said TWBB co-creator Matthew Mercer.

Co-creator Zach Grafton adds, “This web series was really a labor of love for all of us. We’re really excited to give something back to our hard-working team and also to shake hands with the fans who made this show so popular.”

Featuring at the party will be DJs Poison-K, Jinrei, DO NOT FEED THE DJ, and Amaya, but more importantly their main entertainment comes from The Megas (a band who takes inspiration from the Mega Man series) and The Yuki Shundo Dance Crew.

If you would like join in the fun, head to the Good Hurt Club on Saturday, March 13th, between 9PM and 2AM. You need to be over 21 years old, and be aware that there is a cover charge of $10.

If you want to check out the 10 episode series, head on over to either There Will Be Brawl‘s website or check them out on The Escapist instead.

(Many thanks to the team at Bubble Punch for the information!)

Superfrog and LeBasse Projects have come together to provide an exhibit that consists of work from Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano. Amano is known for designing characters for the video game Final Fantasy as well as for anime films such as Vampire Hunter D, Guin Saga, Final Fantasy, and Front Mission. His DEVA LOKA exhibit first premiered in August at the Superfrog Gallery in San Francisco, and it’s now Amano’s first major show in Southern California in almost a decade.

The exhibit consists of 25 pieces, and be prepared for bright auto paint and metallic glitter which is said to be “an ode to the artist’s love of American comics, culture and automobiles”. The exhibit is launching TODAY (the 20th of February) in Los Angeles, and there will be a special opening reception starting at 7pm and running until 10pm if you would like to help celebrate the launch.

Yoshitaka Amano also has this to say about his exhibit:

“Between the late 60′s and the 70′s, and during my early years in the art world, I was greatly influenced by American comic books and pop culture. I’d like to show my gratitude for the inspiration America gave me with this exhibit. With the theme of DEVA LOKA, all of my concepts and influences are able to come together, centered in one place. I hope everyone enjoys my show.”

DEVA LOKA opens today and runs through March 13th at LeBasse Projects, located in Los Angeles’ Culver City Arts District and is located at 6023 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. For more information visit www.lebasseprojects.com.

Yu-Gi-Oh! video game players interested in getting ahead of the competition for the Video Game World Championship in 2010 shouldn’t miss this chance to try out 5D’s “Reverse of Arcadia.” Duelists looking to play online, with friends or others, won’t want to miss to test out this game before anyone else.
If more TCG action is your thing, check out the Pegasus League side event tournaments. If you’ve been working hard on those creative building techniques, this is a great way to show off your skills. Turbo Pack 2 boosters will be the prize. There will also be an “Attack of the Giant Card” tournament, where Konami is offering four world premiere cards from the new Absolute Powerforce set as giant cards.

For those that are interested in the main tournament, it will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. There is a $20 registration fee, and each player will receive five booster packs just for signing up. The top three finalists of this tournament, as well as the winners of the side event playoffs on Sunday, will receive a “Dark End Dragon” prize card.
