Secret of Monkey Island gets a Special Edition

LucasArts has announced a special edition for The Secret of Monkey Island. It’s a re-imagined version of the first gme with high definition graphics, a new musical score and a full voiceover. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will be available on Xbox Live and PC on July 15. Gamers can also pick up Tales of Monkey Island, a new storyline from TellTale starting today on PC and WiiWare.

Tales of Monkey Island trailer

Tales of Monkey Island is launching Tuesday for the PC with the first episode of the series, “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”. This series is the first of five monthly episodes. TellTale sent us the attached video of the gameplay from the first episode. The new series of Tales of Monkey Island is Guybrush Threepwood’s first new game in a decade. Look for it on July 7th.

Vacation on Monkey Island This Summer

Amidst all the other announcements we are going to see over the next few days, LucasArts got a preemptive jump on the E3 news by announcing they are working with Telltale Games to bring gamers back to Monkey Island. Tales of Monkey Island will be released as five monthly episodic releases featuring an all new storyline for PC and Wiiware gamers. And later in the summer, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will be landing on the Xbox 360 Arcade.
