The folks at Turbine just announced the release of the newest content update for LOTR, bringing improvements, more  quest, contact and adventure than before!

• Improved Skills & Traits for the Lore-master & Rune-keeper
• Updated Elf & Dwarf starter regions

Flying LAb Software has announced that Pirates of the Burning sea has gone Free-to-Play!

Dragon Saga: the MMO formally known as Dragonica:

Gravity Interactive has accurate the license of the game and has renamed it to Dragon Saga.  The game still the same, just a different name.

Vindict you, Vindict me, VindictUS!

Sorry, I can’t stop been cheesy about the name [¬_¬].  Vindictus has two exciting new dungeons(Prairie Entrance and Ruins of Sanctity) . In addition to the new dungeons and Fomors to fight, players will face off against boss monsters such as Goliath, Dim Gray, Warchief Black Scar and the Giant Spider. Players who’ve mastered their skills thus far will be able to attack with several new skills such as Berserk, Lightning Fury and Large Shield Mastery. And if that wasn’t enough, they have also raised the cap to level 44! More stuff, more gaming, more fun!

All other MMO’s but not RPG:

Globex Studios intends to produce high-quality, direct-to-consumer game titles (in a cost-effective way!) that bring together U.S. project expertise and international production efficiency.  The company will initially target the largest online gaming audience in Greater China and the U.S.

Members of Globex Studios LA collectively have worked on more than 100 console/PC games, including Star Wars Battlefront and Destroy All Humans! The LA team includes former Pandemic Studios Executive Art Director Carey Chico serving as President/CEO as well as designer/producer/directer Troy Dunniway as VP of Game Development. Jesse Taylor will serve as CTO/COO.

The company’s current focus includes launching an original IP that includes a specific focus on MMOs targeting the Chinese market. They will also be working on titles with more of a global appeal.

Heatwave also obtained a source code license to the PlayGrid Platform, an online game publishing technology as well as acquiring two game development engines. The engines have been used in the past for both Gods & Heroes development and the development of Star Trek Online.

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is a full-scale action adventure MMO steeped in Roman mythology. Players battle monsters and command minions while seeking favor from the gods. Back at E3 2006, it was dubbed “Best in Show” by leading MMO sites Allakhazam and TenTonHammer, and “Game of Show” and “Best Graphics” by MMORPG, Gods & Heroes was in closed beta when production ended in 2007.

In the game itself, players will travel through the land of Aria hoping to save its inhabitants from the forces of darkness. During the quests, players will find mystical cards that let them have the ability to summon creatures and other people to aide them in battle so they won’t be alone on the dangerous quest. Unlike other trading card game infusions, the battles will be played out in real time while featuring familiar play and style made for the trading card genre.

There are no fixed classes, which is a blessing for many MMORPG players out there. Players can customize their character’s stats so they can wield magic and melee weapons, or they can specialize in one or the other. Like good trading card games, Camon Hero hopes to give players the option to customize and create their own style of playing. The power to perform skills is bound to cards so that possibilities in combat become endless. Deciding what cards to include in their summon hand and managing Stack Cooldown Times help maintain control of the field at all times.

Camon Hero will feature both PvE (player vs environment) field combat and instanced mission based combat. Bosses test the skills of the players. There is also the PvP option, so players can have it out with each other to practice or just improve their skills.

Players will get several abilities in the game like being able to attack other players and monsters, using non-attack actions like healing their HP (hit points), adding items to their character, and taking on side quests. Users can customize the starter decks that come with the game, and booster packs can be bought using in-game points they earn while playing. There’s also a trade lobby so users can trade cards in real time or just make a post saying what they are looking for.

iTCG has a facebook fan page that you can become a fan of to view artwork, meet other players, and talk about the game. The iTCG site is located here. It looks like a great game for anyone that wants to play a trading card game but can’t afford the costly packs and decks.

Mythic Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning for Macs on October 28, 2009. WAR will be available by digital download to new subscribers at gametreeonline.com for $19.95 and includes 30 days of game time. Current subscribers can download the Mac client for free.

Hello Kitty Online MMO

I think we got at least two weeks and then I have to post something Hello Kitty related. Even the staff is on the look out for HK information now! This week we have a new trailer for Hello Kitty Online the first MMORPG in the Sanrio universe.

HKO is also taking signups for their closed beta at http://www.hellokittyonline.com/us. I’ll be trying it out, so let me know if you get into the closed beta as well!

HKO is a free-to-play PC game where players can interact with Hello Kitty characters and customize their character.
