SpotLight GPS dog tracking system brings together several resources to help you find and locate a wandering dog. In partnership with the AKC’s CAR, Companion Animal Recovery System, your cell phone and GPS technology, you can track the location of a dog wearing the SpotLight collar and transmitter. They also offer a free App for iPhone and Blackberry to use with the service.

You can set Safe Spots for your dog to stay in, and get alerts on your phone if the dog leaves your designated area or yard. In the event of a loose dog, you can get turn by turn directions to connect with your agile Houdini. They back up the $14.95 a month Escape Artist service plan with toll free telephone support around the clock.
The collars are also outfitted with a Rescue button, so that if someone finds your lost dog all they need to do is press the button and you will immediately get the location.

No security system is ever perfect. The same downsides which apply to your cell phone apply to the SpotLight products. If the battery dies then it’s no good. The collars work on TMobile cell service, so if your dog leaves the TMobile area then it isn’t going to get a signal to you until it is picked up by a tower. It is recommended that you check the service map carefully before buying it.

We live in a tech society. There is no denying this fact. There isn’t a day go by when I haven’t left the house without a gadget. After thinking about how often I left the house with a gadget or two, I figured I’d ask the ladies of Gaming Angel’s .com what gadget that they can NOT leave the house without.

iPhone, Smartphone or Cell Phone: This gadget was the main gadget that was popping up in our discussion. We can not leave our house without our cell phone. Mainly the smartphone. Many of use have an iPhone with many of the app. We use these apps lot in order to take notes, interviews, or ideas for articles. Trina, Cherith, and Tiffany swear by them. Besides, I guess you can call us on them too. Renochan and myself, do not have smartphones, but we still swear by our phones. We can’t leave the house without them.

Portable Gaming System; DS, DSi or PSP: Tiffany states that “My purse purchases are directly influenced by whether my DS Lite will fit” Talk about dedication! Shadow Kat Au states that she takes her PSP everywhere she goes! We love taking our gaming on the go be it a commute, a bus ride or travel across the country. We need to take our games with us. Currently, Renochan is addicted her the new Pokemon games for the DSi so she has begun to carry around her pokewalker.

iPod/Mp3/Zune: As I am typing up this article, I am listening to a 1st generation iPod Nano. I have had this little buddy for a few years now, and it has gotten me through two degrees, and almost two years of teaching. (Let hope it lasts!) RainbowSleeve says that she also takes her iPod when she goes out. A friendly reminder, that you should clear out those ear bud or headphones of your often.

Laptop/Netbook: I can’t leave the house without my laptop. Most of the time I am heading to work, and lugging my beast of a laptop with me. If you are anything like me, you should get yourself a carrying or protective case to lug you laptop around. Get a case that is stylish, and expresses your personality. Check out some of our articles at Gaming Angels.com about nice and affordable cases.

How about you lovely readers? Is there a gadget or gadgets that you don’t leave the house without?

I remember years ago when I found this perfect nail polish in a store. Of course, no price tag on either the bottle or the shelf. I stood there looking for one of those bar code scanners. After enough annoyance, I gave up. Of course I bought the polish. Now imagine if I had an app on my phone that would have told me that the wonderful polish was only five dollars. Well that is now possible with ScanLife’s App.
A new version of ScanLife’s App for bar code scanning was released this week for the Iphone, Android and Blackberry.
The app functions by using the mobile phone’s camera to scan the UPC and then the app reads the bar code in order to retrieve product information for all product. The new app is able to scan both 2D and 1D bar code into the app and identify the product.

Consumers can download ScanLife free of charge from their mobile phone at www.getscanlife.com or from Android Market, BlackBerry App World™, and Apple’s App Store.

Apple’s iPhone did a lot more than change the face of mobile phone gaming. It’s changed the way a lot of people look at smartphones forever. In fact, with over 50 million users and over 85,000 apps available, there’s an app for just about everything the hardware can do, and peripherals to make it do the things it can’t right out of the box.

With over 125,000 developers using the platform (some of whom can actually say they’ve started coding for iPhone full-time), and more added every day, the iPhone train is headed downhill at full speed with no brakes. In the first few days of 2010, Apple announced that the App Store reached over 3 billion downloads.

To put that in perspective, in the past eighteen months, an average of 64 apps were downloaded every second.

With an all-but-confirmed tablet on the way and more iPods and iPhones flying off the shelves, that number’s bound to go up exponentially, controversy over the approval process or not.

Need to do something? There’ll be an app for that, now and in the future.

The concept behind Callpod Fueltank has existed almost as long as we have had portable gadgets. We travel, have business meetings, and we need to keep connected. When a gadget like our cell phone gives out, what are we to do? Well portable charging devices have emerged with many different forms, and this is the premise behind Callpod Fueltank Uno.

Playdom has announced the release of Mobsters: Big Apple™, the first universally engaging mafia game for the iPhone connected to a social network with speed, quality and depth of game play.

One Game, Two Ways to Play

Playdom’s 13.5 million Mobsters players can continue their existing game on the iPhone, and enjoy access to exclusive iPhone missions involving a mysterious Mr. X. iPhone players can choose to play entirely on their phone or link the game to a new or existing MySpace account for access to friends.

A Big Game for Serious Players

The game is purposefully designed to allow players to move through the ranks quickly and, given the depth of Mobsters MySpace, will support more than a year of intense game play. To further enhance the experience, Mobsters: Big Apple allows players to build their mob by running missions for “hired guns,” as opposed to relying exclusively on friend invites.

“Mobsters: Big Apple allows us to offer an expanded playing experience to our millions of dedicated MySpace players,” said Jesse Janosov, Director of Product at Playdom. “This is part of a larger Playdom strategy to delight our users across platforms and devices—to offer a truly cohesive gaming experience.”

Microsoft’s VP Shane Kim says that it’s no longer a question as to if they will get into the handheld gaming space, it’s a matter of when.

In an interview with Kikizo, Kim stated, “For us, it’s a matter of focusing on ‘when’, because if we chased after a mobile or handheld opportunity, we would not have the resources and ability to do things like Project Natal.

“So we’ve chosen to focus on the living room experience from a hardware standpoint, if you will, but we’re building a service in Live that will extend to other platforms. No question about it.”

“So the question will be, how do we enter into that market. Do we do our own device? Do we create our own phone? That’s a question for the company itself. Do we continue to go down the Windows Mobile path which is that path that we’re on today?”

“But believe me, we understand the importance of that device in people’s lives.”

Money is tight right now and you might be feeling like you can’t upgrade your cellphone. It can feel illogical to be spending $200 or more when you have a functioning, but less impressive cell phone. T-Mobile is going to step in to help encourage you to spend. Their latest plan is called the Equipment Installment plan.

If you qualify, T-Mobile will give you the option of splitting up the tab for hardware and other accessories over the course of four months. The first month gets paid up front and then there is a breakdown over the next three months for three more payments. There are no fees included or interest so this does help soften the blow of upgrading your phone.
