Get Your Hand Jive Ready – “Grease: The Game” Available in September
Think about games that you never thought would be made. Ever, in the history of anything. Does a game based on Grease, the classic John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John movie, pop to the top of that list? Well, it looks like you’re wrong. (Not sure if I should be amused or empathetic about your failure.) 505 Games is turning the classic Paramount Pictures musical into a game for the Wii and Nintendo DS and DSi due out this September. The Wii version is a family-friendly party game featuring 16 of the movie’s songs, with a Party Mode that lets you compete in teams using the Wii Balance Board and USB microphones. You can sing about how “Grease is the word,” play carnival games just like at Rydell High’s graduation celebration, race against Greased Lightnin’ on Thunder Road, or just plain dance your socks off at the sock hop. If Story Mode is

Is Kick-Ass Too Violent?
I would not take my nine year old nephew to see Kick Ass (though there were plenty of pre-teens in the theatre with their parents that day) as I would not take him to see any MA rated film without first researching the content. That’s what parents and guardians are there for – to filter their children’s consumption to an appropriate level, be it movies, games or food.

Clash of the Titans on iTunes gets you a sneak at new movie
Clash of the Titans is making a huge comeback in the theaters, but you can get a sneak peek now into the new movie by purchasing the classic Clash of the Titans on iTunes. The original film is fun enough to watch on it’s own, but the sneak peek includes a making of for the new movie and interviews with the cast and director. Another very exciting release is for the Neverending Story. A classic film that is wonderful to watch, is available not only on iTunes but also Playstation 3 and Xbox (for us gamers!). So if tv bores you lately, get caught up on classic movies that are fun to watch.

Movie Review: La Maison de Himiko
Last weekend I had the chance to venture out to the New People complex and the VIZ Cinema to see this Japanese chick-flick. I call it a chick-flick mainly because there’s a lot more drama than in most non chick-flicks. It’s a movie that both genders can enjoy and, surprisingly, makes a good date night movie. Below may contain some spoilers, so read at your own risk. The movie follows a young woman named Saori as she attempts to repay a debt built up from her mother’s hospital bills. Her father left her mother to live his life as a gay man. He started a bar for gays, which later closed. He then opened up a retirement home for gay men called “La Maison de Himiko”, where this film gets it’s title. Saori is very sore about her father leaving her mother and holds the grudge against him through the

Warner’s New Redbox/Netflix Rental Policies Bound to Bring Out the Pirates
Today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced a multi-year distribution agreement with Redbox that will require Warner new-release DVD and Blu-Ray titles to only become available 28 days after official release. (Netflix has agreed to the same terms.) What does that mean for you, the eager DVD renter-to-be? Well, as far as Redbox goes, you’re going to need to be a lot faster when attempting to obtain Warner titles on the first day of availability (well, as long as your local Redbox has fairly heavy traffic). Netflix users need to decide what to rent and put it on their list a lot earlier — the first two releases to fall under the new rule, The Invention of Lying and Whiteout, currently have a longer-than-usual wait list. (Netflix did actually get something out of the deal — the ability to stream more Warner titles.) It also means that piracy of Warner titles

Universal plans to release a Stretch Armstrong movie in 2012 with Taylor Lautner as the titular action figure. The biggest twist? It’s in 3D. “The addition of Taylor Lautner and the 3D twist to Stretch Armstrong…is sure to pay dividends when the film is released in 2012,” said Brian Goldner, President and CEO of Hasbro, Inc. After initially being planned for 2011, Stretch Armstrong is moving to 2012 to allot time to shape the project into a 3-D superhero adventure and to accommodate Lautner’s existing commitments. “In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power,” said Langley. “We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch.” Stretch Armstrong is based on the action figure made popular

Based on the real life attraction “Toy Story Midway Mania!” at California’s Disney theme parks (as well as the Toy Story movies), “Toy Story Mania!” is a series of arcade-style mini-games to test your skills on. Many of these mini-games are the same
