Recently there have been reports that David O Russel has been considering Mark Wahlberg for the role of
Nathan Drake. Mark isn’t a bad actor, but does not seem to fit the role.

He is the perfect Nathan Drake because Nathan is fearless, sarcastic and hilarious all at the same time. While playing through Uncharted 1 and 2, I felt that the character was almost modeled after Nathan Fillion.

A few GamingAngels staff are going to freak out about this, which means I better get something autographed for them. Tokyopop has announced that Tsuneo Goda, the creator of Domo character, will be appearing at the Northridge Borders store in Southern California on October 29, at 7pm. That’s the same borders I met Nathan Fillion, pretty popular stop.

Domo was originally created in 1998 as the mascot of Japanese public broadcaster NHK and now has stop-motion animated shorts for Japan and America. He’s also used in marketing for 7-Eleven and Target.

7-Eleven has posted the webisodes featuring Domo and has three collectible Slurpee cups.

Nathan Fillion

I don’t think Border employees realized how busy last Tuesday would be. Over 100 people waited in three different lines to meet the author of Heat Wave, Richard Castle, better known as Nathan Fillion.

Nathan is the star of Castle, television show on ABC. In a rather unique promotion, the book they talk about on the show was actually written and published. You can read every chapter here or purchase the book at any retail store.

I loved watching at the event Browncoats mingle with people who were just fans of the show. The lady in line behind me buying the book for her husband didn’t really understand why so many people showed up.

Nathan arrived early and stayed long enough to give everyone an autograph. He took time to speak with each person and even held someone’s baby! We spoke about GamingAngels and Halo 3: ODST. I had wondered if he was going to sign as Castle or as Nathan. Nathan told me that he had considered signing as Castle, but figured he had more practice signing his name.

Castle Heat Wave

Richard Castle might be a character played by Nathan Fillion, but ABC is promoting Castle in a very real way. The first episode of Castle was this past Monday (10/9c) on ABC and during the episode Nathan Fillion’s character, Richard Castle was doing a photoshoot for his new book, Heat Wave.

But that book is just a part of the storyline right? Wrong. It’s real and you can read it right now. ABC is posting a chapter a week until the release date of the book. On the page is a link to download the chapter. If you dislike reading a PDF or on your pc, you can purchase the book here for $13.95. The book will ship on September 29.

Recently, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” won an Emmy for Outstanding Special Class – Short Format Live-Action Entertainment Program! This is really great that something born during the writer’s strike as a short web series wins an Emmy. And I know that all of us at Gaming Angels send them a big congrats on the honor!

Halo 3 ODST

Here is the first video document from Bungie for Halo 3 ODST. St. Buck (Nathan Fillion) introduces the team of ODST’s to their mission into covenant occupied New Mombasa.

Halo 3 ODST

A month ago, many gamers noticed tweets from Nathan Fillion about him taking a trip to Seattle to check out Halo 3: ODST.

“Just got a call from Bungie. Going to Seattle to play HALO ODST! Hope they don’t check my pockets when I leave for game shaped booty.”

Turns out Nathan had more of a reason to be at Bungie than just a celebrity fan wanting to get a preview. MSNBC caught up with Nathan in the video below where they talk all things Halo 3: ODST including the fact that Nathan will be doing the voice for Sergeant Buck in the game.

This fan may have built the best fan-made trailer of all time. The trailer shows Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan. After watching it, I don’t think that’s a bad match up. After doing a voice in animated Wonder Woman, maybe Nathan Fillion will his own super hero movie.
