Ozzy in World of Warcraft

The City of West Hollywood in California will be rocking tomorrow as they have declared it Ozzy Osbourne Day. On September 10, 2009 a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne will kick off at the House of Blues on Sunset and Osbourne himself, will perform Saturday, September 12, 2009 closing the Sunset Strip Music Festival. This performance will be Ozzy’s first full performance on Sunset Strip in almost 40 years.

“Ozzy has had a sizeable musical impact,” said West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tempore John Heilman, who has been instrumental in the establishment of the Sunset Strip Music Festival. “We want to salute all of his contributions to the music industry and to the Sunset Strip,” Heilman continued.

Celebrate by watching old shows from his reality show, playing some of his songs, going to the concert, or prancing around WoW saying your the prince of darkness.

Michael Irvin – ESPN radio host and former Dallas Cowboy, joins the cast as the football player, also appeared in the film The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

Joanna Krupa – Actor/ Model – one of Maxim’s Sexiest women in the world, her TV/ Film credits include Six Days in Paradise, Ripple Effect, Las Vegas and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Most recently she competed in ABC’s The Superstars teaming with Buffalo Bills NFL star Terrell Owens. She was also featured in PETA’s I’d rather go naked than wear fur” campaign.

Donny Osmond – Singer/ Actor/ Presentor – Brother to season 5 “Star” Marie, lets see how far this sibling rivalry will take him.

Macy Gray – Singer, also appeared in the films Training Day, Domino, Spider-Man and Idlewild. I try to say goodbye and I choke.

Tom DeLay – Politician, former Republican Majority Leader… interesting to choose a politician for the show. Would like to see how this plays out with fans.

Melissa Joan Heart – Actor/ Producer/ Director who I will always remember as Sabrina, the teenage witch… or Clarissa. She has also appeared in Drive Me Crazy and Holiday in Handcuffs, and has her own production company, Hartbreak Films.

Chuck Liddell – MMA/ Ultimate Fighting Champion who has also appeared in the movies 300, Cradle 2 the Grave, Bachelor Party Vegas, The Death and Life of Bobby Z and Drillbit Taylor.

Debi Mazar – Actor, Entourage also appeared in Goodfellas, The Doors, Malcom X, Batman Forever, and Bullets over Broadway

Louie Vito – Professional Snowboarder – among the U.S.’s elite snowboarders favored to make the 2010 Olympic team. Competing in both the Pipe and Slopestyle disciplines, Vito continues to train for the Grand Prix qualifying.

Mya – Singer/ Songwriter/ Record Producer/ Actor, appeared in Chicago, Shall We Dance, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and Cursed.

Aaron Carter – Singer/ Actor (7th Heaven and Lizzie McGuire among others). Younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter

Natalie Coughlin – Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer, most decorated female athlete of both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Games. She won a medal in every single Olympic event that she ever entered—giving her a total of 11.

Mark Decascos – TV host, Kung Fu champion, actor, Appeared in Brotherhood of the Wolf, the cult classic Only the Strong, Cradle 2 the Grave opposite Jet Li, Only the Brave, Nomad, and The Lost Medallion, to be released later this year.

Kathy Ireland – Model, actor, author, Sunday School teacher and CEO of Kathy Ireland Worldwide appeared in Melrose Place, Side Out, Mr. Destiny, National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1, Once Upon a Christmas, Mom and Dad Save the World and Necessary Roughness, as well as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for 13 years in a row.

Ashley Hamilton – Actor/Songwriter/Comedian, son of season 2 “Star” George Hamilton, starred in Soap opera Sunset Beach, and is currently touring the LA comedy scene.

Kelly Osbourne – Singer/ Actress? Media Personality, Daughter of rock icon Ozzy Osbourne and well-known TV personality Sharon Osbourne, she has released 2 top Billboard albums and appeared on ABC series Life As We Know It.

Next week I’ll be on my way to Anaheim to attend Blizzcon 2009, and I know that this is going to be one heck of a convention! Between the announcements that are bound to be made, panels and a concert from the Prince of Darkness, I know I will have a blast. But what should we expect from Blizzard? There have been all kinds of rumblings in the WoW community with regards to Cataclysm, the suspected next expansion as well as the possibly leaked new races players will be able to choose from. There was also the sad announcement that Starcraft II has been pushed back to the first half of 2010.

Admittedly, I’m more of a Warcraft player, so I’ve had my ear to the ground mainly for those news items and rumors. The guesses on what the next expansion may be and include are some of the hottest topics right now. Most people, if not all are already calling the next expansion “Cataclysm” and have for the most part agreed that it will most likely take us into the Maelstrom and involve the Emerald Dream. This is interesting as venturing into the Emerald Dream will expand on the lore regarding Druids, which for those who love their Druids is a very exciting prospect.

The other hot topic has been the possible leak of the two new races that may be released with the expansion: Worgen (for the Alliance) and Goblins (for the Horde). This has been analyzed by lore fans with regards to how the lore would work for integrating the new races, as well as bemoned as another nail in the coffin for some WoW players. Some have even said that they will stop playing if this rumor proves to be true. I personally think that this may have a chance at being true, but I also feel that this could also very well have been placed as a red herring to hide a different announcement they’re planning to make. In any case, with regards to both of these hot items, I know that we’ll be hearing some big announcements with regards to the next expansion come next Friday.

I’m also interested to hear more on what’s going on with Starcraft II and Diablo III. Aside from the delayed game announcement for Starcraft II, I haven’t heard too many big things coming out for those games. But just as with WoW I’m sure that I will be hearing more next Friday when more shall be revealed to all of us! So what is everyone else looking forward to hearing coming out of Blizzcon? Blizzard has put out a statement confirming that the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne will headline the closing concert at BlizzCon. The concert will be part of the DirectTV stream.

On August 22, Ozzy will “unleash a thunderous spectacle of rock to put the Lich King in his place and cement his own title as the one true Prince of Darkness.”

“Our goal with BlizzCon is to deliver an unforgettable weekend of entertainment, and we can’t think of a better way to close out this year’s show than having Ozzy rock the house,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Many of us at Blizzard are lifelong fans of Ozzy’s music, and we’re thrilled that he’ll be performing for all of our BlizzCon attendees as well as those joining us via DIRECTV and the live Internet stream.”

Today’s news is about rocking out with your bad self I guess as EA and Double Fine continue the headbanging news with the announcement of the soundtrack for Brutal Legend. There are over 100 tracks for this soundtrack with over 75 bands showcased.

Ozzy in World of Warcraft

StealthySlyth will be covering BlizzCon for GamingAngels.com this year. She kept telling me that she thought she heard that Ozzy was going to be at the convention and looks like she’s right!

A DirectTV listing has confirmed that Ozzy Osbourne will be appearing at Blizzcon. He’ll be making a “special appearance” but that’s all we know so far.

Blizzcon 2009 takes place on August 21-22 in Anaheim, CA. If you don’t have tickets, you can watch it streaming live on DirectTV or watch GamingAngels.com for StealthySlyth’s video and written coverage!

Edit: I’m looking through DirectTV site again and it looks like the mention has been removed. Until we get further confirmation take this as unconfirmed.
