    John Riccitiello looks at potential target market

    EA’s John Riccitiello is sticking to the idea that the target market for gaming is now larger and changing. “Conservatively, if I add up mobile users that play games, social network people that play games, people that play PC games online in Asia, all this stuff, this new audience – there’s at least a billion people gaming today, compared to a couple of hundred million just five years ago,” he stated in an interview with Nightly Business Report. “We have five times the audience we’ve ever had and it is growing in leaps and bounds. It’s no longer a niche.” That’s right five biiiiiiilion. Feel free to exploit away.

    Alienware adding new gaming peripherals to their product line

    I’ve always been a fan of Alienware, and their very powerful (and shiny) computers. I’ve loved the fact that you can customize their computers nicely to get what you want inside of them and to add a bit of your own personality via the case design and lighting. So when I got an email regarding a new line of gaming peripherals that they are releasing I was intrigued. In June, Alienware had released one of the first of these with their OptX AW2210 Monitor ($299). A 21.5″ full HD monitor that has some great specs to it including two HDMI ports, adjustable stand, four USB 2.0 ports for connecting various peripherals, and low input lag. Sounds like a pretty good monitor if you do a lot of gaming, and I know I would love those extra USB ports in the monitor for connecting some external hard drives and my headset.

    Left 4 Dead Survival Pack out today

    I know several of you are pretty excited about this. By the time you wake up this morning the Left 4 Dead Survival Pack will be released. The exact time for those of you staying up is 2am PST. The download date/time is for the 360 version. No time for the PC version is set yet.
