    PSPgo gains some price appeal

The super-portable PSPgo’s been floundering a little since its unveiling over a year ago, and a lot of that has to do with the discless system’s pricing. Granted, Sony’s been trying to make that less of an issue by including games with the system (though everywhere except North America appeared to get an awesome deal there). Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s been enough. Perhaps today’s move to make the PSPgo $50 cheaper in North America will actually move some systems. The handheld will now be $199 in North America and 16,800 yen in Japan (a price cut of 10,000 yen). Does this entice you to buy the PSPgo, or is the lack of support for the disc-based games you already own a complete dealbreaker no matter what the price happens to be? I’m sticking to the latter.

Square Enix announces a new “Dissidia” title, brackets are involved

Square Enix is making another play for the PSP’s portable fighter market, and instead of just calling it Dissidia Final Fantasy 2, we get…brackets. Not the fun brackets where you bet on NCAA Basketball, either (assuming this is legal in your area). No, we’ve been given a game titled Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy. Yeah, I don’t get it, either. Definitely one of those things that is more fun to say than it is to type. Once again, we’re getting a full slate of classic Final Fantasy characters, but with new enhancements, including new game modes, more story missions and even more items and costumes. Lightning (FFXIII) and Kain (FFIV) have also been added. A basic storyline from Square Enix is posted below. Tell us what you think about the latest in the Final Fantasy spinoffs. For more, visit the official website, which currently features only a logo and a rousing

“Knights in the Nightmare” gets a PSP trailer from Atlus

Strategy RPG “Knights in the Nightmare” for the PSP has an official trailer from Atlus USA. Yes, the game was previously released for Nintendo DS, but the PSP version does add some flair. You’ll be able to play as Princess Yggdra for the first time, meaning that you get a grand total of three perspectives, or three playthroughs, if you’d rather think about it that way. This version of KitN features remastered visuals and sounds, with new, optimized controls and a new opening movie that will look familiar to everyone who loves Persona 3 and Persona 4 – Yukio Takatsu directed it. The PSP version also adds even more tutorial missions, making it even easier to learn. Check out the trailer below:

Atlus released the full trailer for Persona 3 Portable today, which, as we’ve said before, contains quite a few improvements to the original game, and you get to hold it in the palm of your hand, as well. Kratos Back on the PSP in “God of War: Ghost of Sparta”

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced that they will be releasing “God of War: Ghost of Sparta” on the PSP and PSPgo systems. Ghost of Sparta promises a new storyline and even better graphics. Greek mythology will, of course, come into play once more, and the story will take place after the conclusion of God of War. Kratos will go on a journey to answer questions about his past that will take him through dangerous and brutal lands. Sony claims that this installment will have 25% more gameplay, more lifelike characters, a robust weapons system, new powers, weapons and abilities, more enemies on screen, more bosses, and a lot more that we’ve never seen in a mobile God of War game. Of course, we won’t really know if all of this is true until we get our hands on it sometime later in 2010. Has milking the God of War franchise

Iron Man 2 Launch Trailer from SEGA

SEGA released its trailer for the Iron Man 2 movie tie-in game late yesterday, hot on the heels of a somewhat…unofficial trailer. Slated for release next Tuesday in the U.S., the game is set to follow the movie’s storyline, while perhaps adding a little from the comics, as well. The storyline is penned by comic book author Matt Fraction. You can choose to play as either Iron Man or War Machine, and Don Cheadle and Samuel L. Jackson even got in on the voice acting (so…where’s Robert Downey, Jr.?). The game also features a metal soundtrack, including music from Lamb of God. The game will be available on virtually everything that isn’t your computer (360, Wii, PS3, PSP, DS) on May 4.

Hexyz Force Trailer Makes You Pick a Side to Get a Story

Today, Atlus released a full trailer for their 2-in-1 RPG for the PSP, Hexyz Force. Why is it 2-in-1? Well, there are two stories in one game, depending on which side you pick! This Atlus title features the beautiful anime cutscenes we’ve come to expect, and a press release today also bragged about practically nonexistent load times. But we’ll have no idea if that’s true until May 25th and May 27th (for physical and downloadable copies, respectively). What do you think?
