    Pokemon Black and White launch date set

    Today we received an announcement from Nintendo that confirmed the launch date for Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version. That date is set for March 6, 2011 in North America for $34.99. In these versions, there will be more than 150 new Pokemon to explore. Which is huge for us Pokemon addicts. The Legendary Pokémon Reshiram™ can only be caught in Pokémon Black Version, while the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom™ can only be caught in Pokémon White Version. The two will also have two different game areas for the first time.     Pokémon Call of Legends Expansion Release Date Announced

    The Pokémon Trading Card Game’s newest expansion: Call of Legends is set to arrive in stores on February 9th! The brand-new expansion will feature 11 Legendary Pokémon, together for the first time in one expansion. Players are also going to get the chance to discover new ‘Shiny’ versions of all Legendary Pokémon cards! There’s also new theme decks: Recon and Retort that will let players survey the destruction as they send their opponents reeling with ferocious counterattacks! The Call of Legends expansion will be available in theme decks for $12.99 US and booster packs for $3.79US.

    Pikachu celebrating 10 at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade

    At the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Pikachu will be celebrating it’s 10th appearance in the parade. Joining Pikachu will be two brand new Legendary Pokemon, Reshiram and Zekrom. The two new Pokemon will be appearing in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White launching this spring. Reshiram and Zekrom will be 14 feet tall with balloon handlers wearing black and white uniforms. “Pikachu’s participation in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of our favorite events of the year and we’re proud to have been involved in such an iconic event over the past decade,” said J.C. Smith, director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International. “Having Reshiram and Zekrom join the Pikachu balloon makes this year’s parade extra special for us as we begin to reveal more exciting details about the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games.”

    10 Year Celebration brings Mew to Pokémon’s HeartGold & SoulSilver Versions

    It has been 10 years since Pokémon™ fans first visited the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Silver version games. Now, after 10 years Pokémon Trainers can get the Rare Psychic-type Pokémon Mew for the remakes, Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver versions on Nintendo DS via a Wi-Fi event October 15th through the 30th, 2010. As 151st entry in the National Pokédex, Mew was the original secret Pokémon, revealed as part of the the Pokémon Red and Blue version games. During the last 12 years, Mew has not often been attainable. The Mew character for the HeartGold and SoulSilver versions is Level 5 and comes with one Normal-type attack: Pound, which gives Pokémon Trainers the ability to train Mew any way they like.     Pokemon Black and White sell well in Japan

    The force with Pokemon is very strong. Pokemon Black and White both launched in Japan for the Nintendo DS last week and made it the fastest selling DS game in Japan. Pokemon Black and Pokemon White beat out all DS games by selling 1.88 million units in Japan for pre-sale and then after the first week managed to total 2.55 million. Pokemon White and Pokemon Black do promise new Pokemon characters which can be quite a draw for those of us that are addicted to catching them all. Internationally, we’ll have to wait until Spring 2011 for both versions to come out.

    USA beats Japan in Pokemon World Championships

    The Pokemon World Championships was last week where over 375 players from 25 countries battled it out with their Pokemon. In the end, only five remained and were crowned World Champions. The Pokémon Company International announced today its 2010 World Champions: Junior TCG World Champion Yuka Furusawa from Japan and Junior video game World Champion Shota Yamamoto from Japan; Senior TCG World Champion Jacob Lesage from Canada and Senior video game World Champion Ray Rizzo from the United States; and Masters TCG World Champion Yuta Komatsuda from Japan. TCG and video game players competed in the World Championships. All of them had to be invited to the event where players won custom DSi XL systems, trophies, vacations and over $100,000 in scholarships. Moral of story?     Pokémon Enigma Stone (July 31st – August 27th)

    Nintendo is introducing a limited distribution of the Enigma Stone which will let Pokémon Trainers get a chance to catch the Legendary Latias or Latios. Starting July 31st, if you can connect through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, you can get the Engima stone. The Latias and Latios pair can only caught with the Engima stone. All Pokémon encountered with the stone will be at level 40. In exchange for the Enigma Stone, players will aslo get Soul Dew: an item that powers up Special Attack and Special Defense for the Legendary Pokémon Latias™ or Latios™.
