The wait is almost over! I was so sad when Project Runway All Stars was delayed. But now the new date is approaching! The show starts Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime. Basically 13 past Project Runway contestants will get a second shot at proving that they are the best. Neiman Marcus is a sponsor for the show and to kick things off, they have a scheduled meet and greet.

Tim Gunn will not be on this show and he explains in an interview on AOL that they were filming Season 9 at the same time as All Stars which was a bit too much for him to handle.

“It may be a failing of mine, but when I’m with something, I’m there 150 percent,” Gunn continued. “I couldn’t possibly have a brain that’s going back and forth between those two workrooms of designers. I was already totally committed to the Season 9 designers, and I couldn’t disappoint them or fail them.

In honest Tim Gunn fashion, he admitted in that interview that there are a few all stars he’s happy he’s not working with again.

I so wish I was in Denver so I could meet Mondo! For me this show is a showdown between Mondo and Austin. It’s going to be AWESOME! Who are you rooting for out of the All Stars?

Project Runway

Project Runway starts its second season on Lifetime not with a bang but with a whimper. Even though I have watched every season of Project Runway religiously, I only found out yesterday that PR was premiering. Many on Twitter felt the same way. I have to wonder why Lifetime wouldn’t help promote one of their biggest shows.

Gone this season is the annoying model show, and in this season is a new show with former Project Runway competitors, Santino and Austin Scarlett. The two will be on a road trip across the countryside to bring couture to women that may not be up to date in terms of fashion. I missed this show and will be tivoing it because those two together are gold. In fact, I advise you tivo Project Runway as well because there are a ton of commercials.

Find information on all of the designers mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway. The personalities all seem to be a mix of what we have seen before. A couple of changes this year. First there isn’t a show just dedicated to getting to know all the people on the show. When the designers get to New York, they start right away into a challenge. Next the show has been expanded to 90 minutes. Thirty more minutes for more drama! The last update is the addition of Piperlime.com instead of the Bluefly wall. We’ll have to see what that means to the season.

We’ll see how this season goes. I don’t have a favorite designer yet, but last season I didn’t have one until half-way through the season. The next-on shows that they may be kicking off more than one designer per show. What do you think of the first episode of Project Runway?

Project Runway’s latest winner, Seth Aaron Henderson is set to put on a fashion show in Portland on October 9th. The show is titled, “Seth Aaron SolarWorld Collection Presented by Portland Fashion Week”.

Henderson will be exploring fashion combined with his passion for a solar solution for energy.

“It’s SolarWorld’s commitment to being a leader in its industry by keeping innovation always in mind that interests me,” says Mr. Henderson, who lives in the Portland area. “There was inspiration from the second I stepped foot in the SolarWorld factory. Innovation and sustainability were overwhelming impressions, and they give me limitless possibilities for a high-concept collection. They’re doing a lot of good things in the world, and together with PFW, I love the statement we’re making from right here in my back yard.”

Bluefly.com is launching BlueflyClosetConfessions.com which is an interactive portal for fans to share their closet obsessions but will also feature their style icon’s closets as well.

One of the first videos up is Project Runway Season 4 winner, Christian Siriano. Others will be djs, publicists, models, etc. Users will get to vote on each other’s closets and leave comments for each other.

“At Bluefly, our strategy has been to create content collaboratively: inviting the user to create and directly participate in the media they consume,” Bluefly’s Chief Marketing Officer Bradford Matson explains. “With Closet Confessions, we’re giving them the tools and the platform to do just that.”

Project Runway lets you control nearly every aspect of the design and modeling experience – from designing the look to walking the walk (with the Balance Board, of course).

The game will feature the Tim Gunn we all know and love as well as host Heidi Klum and judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. Season 6 winner Irina Shabayeva will also appear. Check out the trailer below for some gameplay footage. I sort of wish we got more control over the clothing design, but hey, it’s a Wiimote, not a pair of scissors, right?

The HP Touchsmart tm 2 is a new tablet PC that is making a huge splash on this season of Project Runway. The tablets were used tonight in the episode as the new designers frantically sketched away to get ideas and inspiration.

I’ve never played on the HP Touchsmart tm 2, but hope to see more of it’s use on PR. The winner of Project Runway is getting a package from HP ($50,000 to start their line) but you can win too.

Project Runway was a hot mess last season and I wonder if everyone involved knew it. Not to take anything away from the winner, but the cast and the challenges were boring and few people even cared as the season went on. But because I love Tim Gunn, I’m excited to give Project Runway and Lifetime a chance when season 7 starts today on Lifetime at 10pm et/pt.

This time they are going back to their roots. Tim Gunn and team are back in New York and Lifetime is going to broadcast in HD. It looked terrible last season. So I’m really excited about that. In a radio interview earlier today, Tim Gunn stated that the judges will be the same (except guest judges) but that Nina and Michael Kors will be in every episode. Last season there were many absences by the much loved and sometimes hated judges.

On the official website you can read about each of the contestants and see their try-out videos. You’ll also be able to view their sketches and designs. My bet is they chose people with big personalities that will make us want to care about their journey on PR. Of course, I’ll always watch for Tim Gunn though.

Project Runway

Project Runway is finally coming to Lifetime and Season 6 is turning into a reality. Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are both back with judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. The season starts on Thursday, August 20 at 10pm et/pt.

This year the models will get their own show called, “Models of the Runway”. The show will start at 11 and give fans a look at Project Runway from the model’s point of view.

“I am a huge fan of Project Runway and could not be happier that Season Six will be premiering on Lifetime, the #1 network for women,” said Andrea Wong, President and CEO, Lifetime Networks. “The talent in this all-new season is nothing short of amazing, and I can’t wait for all of the fans to see the incredible work of these brilliant designers.”

On July 9th the official website will be revealed showing fans some details about the top 16 talented designers and give us insight on what sort of drama we’re in store for.

Tim Gunn is my hero. I love him in Project Runway. I love him on his Guide to Style show. His impeccable look combined with his famous sayings (Make it work), make him the most lovable guy in fashion. But can he be a SuperHero?

In Marvel’s upcoming book, Models Inc #1, Tim Gunn will be trying on a new suit, Iron Man’s. According to the NY Times, Gunn will have to wear the suit to save civilians at a fashion show. The cover above is drawn by Phil Jimenez.

“I’m not certain of the particulars of how I’ll be portrayed, but I’m really excited about it,” Gunn told the Times. “To say I’m a character in a comic book is wild!”

And the No-Contact Jacket would be great for any woman as she walks alone.
