Latest “Undead Nightmare” trailer comes to life

If you’re like me and love Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, you’ve likely been waiting for a release date for the “Undead Nightmare” DLC Pack, especially since it adds some more to the single-player story. We (and by “we,” I mean @stealthyslyth) have already found it to be quite enjoyable. I have to admit I got my hopes up when I saw that the non-teaser trailer would be going up yesterday. I loaded it up, entered my birthdate, and watched, enthralled, just waiting for that release date reveal at the end. And, of course, I was let down once again. It’s still coming “very soon.” But the trailer is a very good one. Especially if you like zombies. Enjoy it in its full glory below. EDIT: Per IGN, the DLC is out October 26. Just in time for Halloween! There will also be a DLC disc for $29.99 that will have

“Red Dead Redemption” adds outfits for free and an Undead Nightmare update

Hunting and Trading outfits for Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption were released for free today on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The DLC adds two new outfits – the Expert Hunter (Seen right – you gotta love that hat) and Savvy Merchant – as well as the challenges required to don them. The game also adds one new animal, the Jackalope. The download also includes a compatibility update that allows those without the “Liars and Cheats” and “Legends and Killers” DLC packs to see fellow players in multiplayer who are using characters from Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption single-player. Just more (for free) from a game that keeps on giving. Soon, we’ll also know what date we’ll be meeting the undead, with an official “Undead Nightmare” trailer coming tomorrow. This time, 13 is a lucky day, I guess.

First Look – Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

Red Dead Redemption fans should all be excited for the next DLC coming out: Undead Nightmare. If you don’t already know, this DLC will add in some zombie killing to the already fun western-themed game. If you haven’t already heard about the DLC, the general plot follows John Marston as he searches for a cure to stop the highly infectious zombie plague that’s spreading across the frontier. Well I was able to fight through the massive crowds at New York Comic Con on Saturday to check out the gameplay and man, was I impressed. I started off in a cemetery where I was told I needed to burn some coffins. Well after burning the first one, the zombies began to rise from their graves not too happy with my actions. I then had about 7 more coffins to burn while fending off the undead who kept rising from their graves.

Trailer for Red Dead Redemption’s “Undead Nightmare” DLC

John Marston’s world is getting a little more undead. That’s right, zombies are being added to the world in an addition to single-player mode. This trailer shows off the zombie nightmare, and ends with a promise that the DLC is coming “very soon.” I won’t lie, “very soon” can’t be soon enough. I’ve been itching for a reason to return to the West, and a zombie plague seems like a good enough reason.

Rockstar fires a warning shot for “Red Dead Redemption” cheaters

All you varmints and cowboys with less-than-optimal Honor levels when it comes to playing Red Dead Redemption had better listen up. Rockstar knows what you’re doing, see, and if you’ve been using hacked game saves to make your single- or multiplayer experiences more awesome, you’ve got less than a week to straighten up and fly right, or else you’re out of the game for good. But you’ve got one chance for redemption before the official banhammer is swung. Delete your hacked game saves (in both online and offline modes) to show that you’re truly a reformed player, and you can save yourself from a life without online RDR. After deleting, you’ll have to go online to prove that you’re clean by finishing a gang hideout in your new multiplayer save, or play until you gain access to the MacFarlane’s Ranch safehouse in single-player. Until you do that, there’s an execution

Rockstar rounding up “Red Dead Redemption” cheaters and griefers

One of the biggest stars in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption is the multiplayer. Unfortunately, since the game’s launch, a few players have opted to bring the no-rules atmosphere of the West to Free Roam. It won’t last much longer, though, since Rockstar’s ready to step in with a title update planned for release within the next month. First off, cheaters will never again prosper. Once they know you’re cheating (beyond a shadow of a doubt, they say), you’ll be banned from Red Dead’s multiplayer for a period of time. How long? That’s Rockstar’s choice. Could be a day, could be a month, could be a year. In any case, when you’re back, you’d better stick to the straight and narrow. Not only that, but anti-griefing measures will be put into place. If you’re being bullied repeatedly, you’ll get the option to Transport and respawn in a region of your choosing.

Bring the undead to “Red Dead Redemption” for $10 later this year

Rockstar revealed their plans for Red Dead Dedemption DLC today. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a lot of new content for the single-player mode – this time, it’s all about the multiplayer, with the exception of the “undead nightmare” pack, which, of course, is the last addition (can we hope for a Halloween release?). But more multiplayer content is an awesome thing, since RDR’s multiplayer is incredibly fun. Add that to the fact that you get some new weapons for use in both modes, some multiplayer poker and that one update will include some mysterious “anti-griefing measures,” and these look like a win all around. (But in the interest of full disclosure, I’m such a fan of this game, so of course I think it’s all awesome.) There’s no release date for any of these except the first, and that’s just a vague “beginning of August

GameSpy & Rockstar Capture First Two Weeks of RDR Gameplay Stats

Infographics are littering our interwebs these days (it’s especially true if your day job is in web design). Rockstar and GameSpy hopped aboard the trend to shed light on the first two weeks of live game data for Red Dead Redemption. If you’re interested in a deeper and up-to-the-minute dive into the world of Red Dead Redemption, hang out at the Rockstar Social Club at http://socialclub.rockstargames.com. GameSpy has compared this data to other comparable real world stats. For example: Over the course of a year, the average player would consume 8.6 liters of alcohol by visiting in-game saloons, which is slightly more than the annual consumption of the average American and slightly less than the average Russian. What I’d like to know is how much money players lose on playing Liar’s Dice and Texas Hold ‘em…

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption Social Club

Rockstar Games announced “Social Club” features for Red Dead Redemption today, which will be available on the game’s launch date (May 18 for North America, May 21 for PAL territories). The Social Club will include members-only challenges and perks. It’s easy to register within the game, as well as online, and your Social Club account can be linked to your XBL Gamertag or PSN account. After registration is complete, you receive seven cheats that import automatically. Challenges must be completed in order to actually use the cheats, however. For example, completing the Pike’s Basin Challenge will unlock the “Guns Blazing” cheat, which lets you fire flaming bullets. Cool, right? Rockstar will also be announcing their own challenges and prizes. Rockstar is also holding their own Social Club Multiplayer Event on Friday, May 21 on the PlayStation Network from 4-7PM EST, and Saturday, May 22 on Xbox LIVE from 1-4PM EST.

Red Dead Redemption celebrates Cinco de Mayo

Well, kind of. Since it’s the week of Cinco de Mayo, Rockstar Games decided to share this video with us from Red Dead Redemption titled “Revolution”!
