    E3 2010: Silent Hill 6

As an eternal worshipper of anything that takes place in the sleepy town of Silent Hill, I was absolutely elated to hear that a trailer for Silent Hill 6 (or Silent Hill 8, depending on whether or not you count PSP releases) was shown at E3. Having been burned by the town more than once, I viewed the trailer with cautious optimism. Despite my open mind, I’m still conflicted as to how I actually feel about it. Perhaps breaking the trailer down into individual elements will help calm these seas… Environment/Atmosphere: The Silent Hill staple is fog, fog, and then a little bit more fog. While I’ll admit that graphically the fog looks more realistic, in that they seem to be holding themselves back from going overboard, part of what makes Silent Hill scary is just how overboard they do go with the fog. The misty nothingness could almost be

Capcom and Savage Cycles release the Resident Evil Chopper

Don’t know how many of you ride motorcycles, but Capcom has teamed up with custom chopper shop, Savage Cycles to come up with the Resident Evil Chopper. The RE Chopper has to be one of the more unusual licensing deals but with the Batman motorcycle gear that we saw at San Diego Comic Con, this isn’t that far fetched. The bike looks like it came out of a zombie movie which is fitting. Each bike is custom built and will be available for purchase in early January. Watch Savage Cycles for details. To see the build process of the bike head over to Capcom Unity .

First Look – Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

There are a few zombie rail shooters for the Wii, and Capcom is adding one more to the list with Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, set for a Wii release on November 17. The Darkside Chronicles is definitely a new experience in the Resident Evil series. The demo I played was the new South American level first revealed at Tokyo Game Show. The demo united Leon Kennedy and Jack Krauser as partners. The game itself is the sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and does include favorite Resident Evil characters, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The on-rail, arcade shooter has a controlled camera system that takes the player through the story. The background contains items that are destructible and can get you unique items. Players can interact with backgrounds and will have plenty of undead to kill. There is an extensive weapons system with heavier weapons needed for later

Resident Evil 5 in 3D on PC

Before San Diego Comic Con, Capcom invited us to take a look at Resident Evil 5 on the PC. We were in for a treat though because it combined the greatness of killing zombies with 3D actions. That’s right, Capcom is the latest to work with Nvidia to incorporate their API into their game. Capcom is currently working on taking that 3D technology to the next level by adding outer screen affects to the current depth affects. Capcom is the first game company to do this. First we put on the Nvidia goggles and watch Capcom take us through the demo. First thing I notice is how comfortable the glasses are. I have to wear them over my glasses and had no problems. The 3D affect adds to the gaming experience without the headache that 3D used to cause. I can only imagine how terrifying the game will get when

New Resident Evil film because “it makes money”

Many of us may feel Resident Evil films have nothing to do with the actual game’s plot, but people are still watching them. Resident Evil: Afterlife is in production and star Milla Jovovich explains: “The movie makes money. If it makes more money than the last one, you’d think that people want to see another one, so we’ll do another one. There’s been a lot of interest online, there’s been a lot of letters from fans… film company,” she told shocktillyoudrop. “It’s not like I said, ‘Hey, honey! Let’s do another one right away!’ I mean, it’s an expensive film and it’s all business and if the third one didn’t do well, there wouldn’t be another one.” Jovovich also talks about Afterlife’s 3D effects, which is funny because Milla states that she’s never seen a 3D movie: “He’s been really studying it and seeing all the different things they have
