VOLTRON: Defender of the Universe is now available on XBLA and PSN and to celebrate we’re giving away a Voltron mask for your avatar. But also, the team behind Voltron is having a fan event tonight! The Stewie class

As some of you know, Family Guy is coming to a web browser near you.  Most of us thought “Giggity” when we heard the news!  This morning, you should have received an email if you registered for the beta, letting you know before the world does that you can create your character for the game and annoy the heck out of your friends on Facebook posting those photos!

The Family Guy online game is going to be a free-to-play, browser-based, 3D multiplayer game.  The game is set to launch latter this year, but by creating your character you get to see the classes you can be:

Stewie: Gadgets, far away shooting and fly fishing?  Yes, this is going to be your ranged class, or your Master Mind class ala City of Villains.  Hopefully the Stewie class gets to make minions, then VICTORY WOULD BE MINE!

Chris: The tank class.  His description is that he has forearm muscles and that he is a teenage thus he can cause a lot of mayhem and destruction.

Peter: Fights up close and takes a lot of punishment which also sounds like a tank class, but without details about special moves on Chris is hard to say who is going to be the Tank.

Lois: Like a good mom, she’s the healer class. She is tough and knows lady karate.  The interesting thing is that it recommends you to play a Lois if you are friends with a Peter class.  Interesting.

Brian: The class has not been revealed yet.  It is there but, locked.  I can only imagine what the Brian class would do.

Does not look like you can be Quagmire or Joe’s class.  Is possible that they can be added in the future and/or this are the only classes available for the Beta.

Don’t wait any longer and go make your character before the folks from San Diego Comic-Con learn about the character creator later today and crash the site.

Seth Green

On October 2, someone stole Seth Green’s vintage Butterfinger bar. He’s calling on fans to play the “lite” alternate reality game to find Green’s missing bar and win one grand prize: a solid gold Butterfinger bar worth $10,000.

Butterfinger spokesperson, Seth Green might be new to the position but is already working hard. Collaborating with Butterfinger to producer “Dude, Where’s my Bar?” an alternate reality game lite (ARGL). DudeWheresMyBar.com gives fans a way to participate through a narrative game and videos starring Seth Green and co-starring actors Sean Cullen, Stuart Pankin, and Jon Wellner.

“Butterfinger has long been associated with clever, irreverent humor,” said Butterfinger marketing manager Daniel Jhung. “Leave it to this brand to serve up the first-ever consumer packaged goods ARG with a light, Butterfinger twist.” Jhung added, “This game is a salute to the truly clever community of ARG enthusiasts everywhere. They’ve made a huge impact on pop culture and given a new face to gaming.”

The contest will span six different games over almost a three week period. The game starts October 13, with the reveal on Halloween, October 31 st 11:59pm EDT. Players can play all six games and jump in and out at any point. There are also weekly prizes including, iPhone3GS, Flip Cameras, and DJ Hero Renegade/Guitar Hero game bundles.

Seth Green

Seth Green just had two Emmy award nominations, which may not have earned him the Emmy but he did earn a role as a : BUTTERFINGER Mouthpiece. Green will be working with Butterfinger all year working on new creative projects this fall.

“I’ve been eating all kinds of Butterfinger candy all my life,” said Green, who has enjoyed a phenomenal pop-culture presence for more than two decades, “so this union seems not only natural, but predestined.”

Green leaked news of the Butterfinger involvement last week. He’s also the first celebrity to represent Butterfinger in nearly a decade since Bart Simpson had that job locked.

“Butterfinger has been a fan and supporter of comedic talent, such as Seth Green for years – as evidenced by our promotions highlighting clever, irreverent humor, and The Butterfinger Comedy Network on Yahoo!,” said Tricia Bowles of Nestlé Confections & Snacks. “The casting of Seth Green as our official ‘Butterfinger Mouthpiece’ or spokesperson made perfect sense for a brand that honors humor and praises the punch line.”
