Sonic the Hedgehog Gets Themed Roller Coaster and Hotel Room in UK

Alton Towers Resort, the United Kingdom’s largest theme park, announced a three-year deal with SEGA Europe on Friday. This partnership includes a Sonic-themed roller coaster (actually a rebranding of the Spinball Whizzer coaster), called the “Sonic Spinball,” and a Sonic-themed room where guests can play the latest games from the Sonic franchise. The next game in the series, Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing, will be available in the US on February 23, and the UK on the 26th. Amanda Farr, SEGA Europe UK Marketing Director, said of the deal with Alton Towers: “Partnering Sonic with one of the UK’s most popular destinations for a family day out is a fantastic opportunity for people to engage, and have fun, with the Sonic brand.
