Sony has confirmed that PS Plus members will receive access to the God of War: Ascension beta this winter. The beta will allow gamers to get their hands on the multiplayer component that Sony has been pushing hard since it was first revealed earlier this year. Two teams of four players will battle to earn favor from the gods, Zeus, Hades, Ares and Poseidon. To go with this announcement, Sony released a new trailer featuring Zeus: We got our hands on God of War: Ascension’s multiplayer at E3, and can confirm it is “very God of War.” This beta is in addition to the E3 demo which will be available for those who purchase the Blu-Ray of Total Recall. As of now, God of War: Ascension is set to release exclusively for PS3 on March 12, 2013.

Sony sues Bridgestone and actor who portrayed Kevin Butler
In one of the most bizarre headlines over the weekend, Sony is suing Jerry Lambert, who is better known as Kevin Butler, the VP of Everything. Well, that’s not entirely accurate. Sony is suing Bridgestone and Wildcat Creek Inc., an advertising agency of which Jerry Lambert is the real-life president. You may recall recently seeing a commercial for Bridgestone in which a man and woman were a little too ecstatic about playing Mario Kart on a Wii. It was part of Bridgestone’s recent ad campaign called “Game On,” in which you could win a Wii after buying a set of tires. Yeah, we were a little confused on it, too, but keen eyes may have recognized Lambert playing a Butler-esque character. Which is exactly why Sony is now suing both parties, claiming they tried to capitalize on the Kevin Butler. Speaking to VentureBeat, SCEA senior director of corporate communications, Dan Race,

E3 Press Conferences in Images Day 1
Yesterday we got out the information but it lacked pictures. That’s because while I was typing, Keri was taking awesome pictures with my Cannon 5D Mark II. We decided to post all the pictures from Day 1 together for your enjoyment. That means pictures from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony press conferences. What did you think of the conferences? Any clear winner? At Microsoft, visually we enjoyed their stage. In the pictures take a look at the side panels, which really integrated well with the content. At EA, we were pretty high up and there may even be a camera in some of the shots. Their live stream had a video camera moving constantly in our view. At Sony we had decent seats and they also had great presentation with their games. I believe there is a God of War Ascension shot that is awesome. Hope you enjoy these pictures. We’ll

The various screens are showing images of games and people playing them. You’ll see images of the stage later, but it’s quite pretty visually. Jack is doing the intro. Begin by paying tribute to the gamers, “Never Stop Playing”. He introduces Kaz Hirai to the crowd. First title is a brand new IP by the company that did Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream. Interview: Whitney Wade (God of War Senior Producer)
On Monday, we posted about God of War Ascension. We were invited to the reveal of God of War Ascension’s multiplayer mode. It must have been funny to watch the room full of press trying to figure out what the team was showing us throughout the demo. After the demo we sat with Sr. Producer Whitney Wade to talk about God of War Ascension and what this new adventure means to the team. GamingAngels: Hi Whitney. Describe to us what it’s been like to return to the God of War series. Whitney: It’s exciting times! We love making God of War and so we’re happy to do it.
