It’s Four Marvel Universes in One: “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions”

New Activision and Marvel title Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is the newest announced title for the wall-crawler. Set to be released in September of this year, it features four different Spider-Man worlds from multiple Marvel universes. The first of these are the Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir universes. The Amazing Spider-Man features levels that pay tribute to the early days of the superhero’s comic appearances, while offering new web combat and bright visuals. Spider-Man Noir, on the other hand, is a more stealth version of the webslinger in a 1930s-inspired black-and-white environment. With a story written by Dan Slott that takes players on a mission to capture the magical energy of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will make you battle fan-favorite villains as well as new versions of old favorites in order to restore peace and reality. The game is not yet rated, and you can learn

Even Peter Parker can be affected by a bad economy

We’re still in the middle of a bad economy and not even superheros are safe from the affects. Peter Parker’s latest story line has him getting fired. Starting in Amazing Spider-Man #623, on sale March 3rd, Peter loses his job at the Mayor’s office. Peter tries to protect J. Jonah Jameson and the city and in the meantime loses his career as a photographer. There’s always weddings Petey. I’ve learned people make quite a bit doing that. This storyline will follow Peter to see if he can handle being a Super Hero when he can’t pay his bills. “Peter Parker’s been through some rough times lately, with all of his deadliest foes returning, and he couldn’t lose his job at a worse time” said Senior Editor Steve Wacker. “He’s going to struggle with unemployment and trying to save the city while he can barely afford to keep a roof over

    Guest Review: Marvels

The book Marvels is perfect for people who are sort of interested in super hero comics, but do not know a lot of the history. Writer: Kurt Busiek Artist: Alex Ross The story in Marvels follows Phil Sheldon, a news reporter fascinated with the cities superheroes or “Marvels” as he calls them. Marvels gives the reader the perspective of normal people and what it’s like living in a town full of extraordinary people. The Marvels are misunderstood, feared, but also loved and cherished. As the story moved forward, so does Phil’s views on the marvels. At the beginning he too is skeptical of them, almost afraid. As years past he begins to see that the heroes just want to save human kind, and instead of getting thanks they are met with fear. One thing I thought was interesting was how the X-men were portrayed. While other marvels were misunderstood they

    Spider-Man 4 gets a reboot treatment

Spider-Man 4 is going forward but most of the team is getting the boot in this reboot. That’s right, even though the franchise is fairly new, the studio feels it can reboot the series and start in 2012 with a new team. Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire did not want to move forward with the current script so the studio dumped them. “We have had a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration and friendship with Sam and Tobey, and they have given us their best for the better part of the last decade,” said Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures, who has served as the studio’s chief production executive since the beginning of the franchise. “This is a bittersweet moment for us because while it is hard to imagine ‘Spider-Man’ in anyone else’s hands, I know that this was a day that was inevitable.” Writer James Vanderbilt, who wrote the “Zodiac” screenplay was tapped
