More info on StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm released

Today at Blizzcon there has been more news and information regarding the next expansion Heart of the Swarm. Now, sadly this information doesn’t include a release date, but there is still some exciting stuff. Heart of the Swarm will be picking up where Wings of Liberty left off. As expected, you will play as Kerrigan, and similarly from Wings of Liberty, as you progress through the game Kerrigan will grow in strength and earn new abilities, and players will choose which powers to enhance and use from mission to mission. The game will have 20 new campaign missions, new gameplay mechanics and even some new multiplayer units! In-game and pre-rendered cinematics will make a return this time as well. There will also be some new features which will help with custom-game searching as well as new tools for map authors. There are new things to play here at Blizzcon

    Interview: Penka Kouneva

Penka Kouneva is a Sundance Composer Fellow and a rising Hollywood film composer who blends her native Eastern European influences with modern orchestra, medieval chant, rock, and electronica. Recently, she composed additional score for the videogames “PRINCE OF PERSIA” 2010 and “TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN” working alongside the TRANSFORMERS composer Steve Jablonsky.  I was given the opportunity to ask her a few questions about herself and her experience with Ubisoft.  Enjoy! As quickly as this brouhaha started, it’s over. Plans to require Blizzard’s forum users to display their real names have been put on hold, due to extreme dissatisfaction from their legion of fans as well as other people from around the world. People went as far as looking up the names and information of Blizzard staffers and posting that on the forums themselves as well as outside blogs (one of which even listed contact information, home address and even more information on Activision CEO Bobby Kotick and his wife). In a post from Nethaera this morning, a message from Blizzard CEO Mike Morhalme said it pretty simply: We’ve been constantly monitoring the feedback you’ve given us, as well as internally discussing your concerns about the use of real names on our forums. As a result of those discussions, we’ve decided at this time that real names will not be required
