    Steven S. DeKnight Talks Spartacus: Vengenace Finale and Teases Season 3

    Earlier this month, creator, writer, and executive producer of Spartacus: Vengeance, as well as Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Steven S. DeKnight spoke with the press about killing off characters in the finale, bringing new characters in for season 3 and stretching history just enough to make for an epically awesome show. This season of Spartacus: Vengeance was huge. With each episode ending on a bigger and bigger “HOLY CRAP” moment, I wasn’t sure what DeKnight and his crew could possibly have left for a finale. Oh, ye of little faith that I was because the finale for season 2 was not only full of crazy amounts of action, but it also included a fairly large cut in the cast of characters viewers had been following.     Starz’s “Party Down” Gets a Free VOD Preview

    Starz is offering at least two preview episodes of critically-acclaimed series “Party Down” for free on-demand and online starting April 21. The series’ second season premiere is April 23 at 10 PM (ET/PT). Note how I said “at least two.” Some cable providers have managed to get you a little more. Two episodes from season two and additional season one episodes will be available on the following television providers: Blue Ridge Communications (HD), Buckeye CableSystem, Cablevision, Charter Communications (HD), Comcast, Cox Communications (HD), DIRECTV (HD), Mediacom Communications Corporation (HD), Midcontinent Communications, RCN (HD), Service Electric Cablevision, and Verizon FiOS DirectTV is also offering the new and old episodes, but on a slightly different time table – the first episode is available on April 22, then the second on April 29.     Spartacus: Blood and Sand promotion

    Nope this isn’t an excuse to have scantily clad hot males on the front page of Starz sent us information about the debut for Spartacus: Blood and Sand which starts January 22 at 10pm on Starz. But if you can’t wait that long, a preview of the series will be available on-demand starting January 20. The following cable and satellite providers will be offering the free on-demand sampling for the first two episodes: Charter Communications (HD), Comcast (HD), Cox Communications (HD), DIRECTV (HD on The 101 Network), Insight Communications (HD), Mediacom Communications Corporation (HD), and WOW!     Starz deal with Sony to distribute movies on the Playstation Network

    Yesterday it was announced that Starz Digital Media and Sony to distribute their movies on the Playstation network. Hit movies from Overture Films, including Righteous Kill (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino), and Traitor (Don Cheadle) will be available along with animated features such as Manga Entertainment’s Dead Space: Downfall, “Ghost in the Shell,” “Street Fighter,” and new releases including “Gurren Lagann.” Each movie will be typically offered for rental or purchase in standard definition and an additional High Definition option will be offered when available. “The PlayStation Network/Starz Digital Media agreement announced today highlights the changing face of Starz and its increasing ability and wherewithal to offer mainstream and niche, targeted fare from various genres across multiple platforms and business models,” said Marc DeBevoise, senior vice president, digital media, business development and strategy for Starz Media.
