Today at New York Comic-Con, Capcom let a bunch of Street Fighter X Tekken information out of the bag — including the release date. The game will launch on March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe, and there’s going to be a Special Edition (of course).

That Special Edition includes:

• Street Fighter X Tekken game
• Build-It-Yourself Arcade Cabinet Bank (approximately 5”H)
• Exclusive Prequel Comic Book by UDON
• 36 Gems: Includes All Pre-Order Packs Plus An Exclusive Pack
• Pre-Order Bonus: Nine Exclusive Gems Only Available For Pre-Ordering SE
• Total of 45 Gems When You Pre-Order

Wait, what are these “Gems”? They’re the new character power-up system! With them you modify character stats. Watch this trailer if you want to understand a little more:

The game will also be available for PC in addition to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

If anything, stick around for the happy panda at the end.

However, if you need a little hilarity, check out “Ono X Harada.” The two fighting game masters truly go head-to-head in the best of ways.

Because you've always wanted to "decorate" your fighter.

You’ve got a 3DS. You want more games for it, I’m sure. Nintendo’s press conference didn’t disappoint you if you love first-party games, for sure. Third-party stuff is on the way. But you want specifics. I’ll give them to you. Several of these were not at all surprising, given that they’ve been discussed before. Most of these will launch before the end of the year.

EA’s president, John Riccitiello, also made an appearance on-stage, during which he hinted that a Battlefield title might hit the new HD hardware. I guess we’ll see it when we see it.

The game runs on the same engine as Street Fighter IV, and classic Tekken characters are making the transition to the Street Fighter universe while keeping their signature moves and art style of the series. Just like in Street Fighter IV, you’ll be fighting in 2D with 3D models. The game will also include Tag Team gameplay with two fighters working together for special combos.

During the panel, Ono had these comments to make about the origins of this project: “This is history we’re making.  Two fighting games that have rivalled each other are finally standing on the same stage.  This isn’t just a showdown between Tekken and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games.  So I’m going to give it my all.”

Perhaps while you’ve been playing Tekken 6, you’ve noticed that some things don’t feel right. Or could be improved. Well Namco Bandai has heard you and is providing a free downloadable update for the 360 and PS3 version of Tekken 6. The update is scheduled for release on November 26.

The update improves and fixes problems that users have run into like the following:
• Improved input response: improvement of the game’s responsiveness to button / command inputs;
• Selectable search priorities for ranked matches: players will be able to set search priorities for opponents in ranked matches based on comparable rank or connection quality as well as location;
• Optimized data transmission between fighters and spectators: fight data will be optimized in order to reduce the bandwidth load on the host’s console;
• Signal strength bars: the signal strength bar will reflect connection quality more accurately;
• Chance to cancel match: players will be able to cancel the match before it begins once the opponent’s signal strength has been displayed on ranked matches.

They want you to know they are still listening so make sure you continue to give them feedback about your Tekken 6 experience.
