Simon Görtzen Wins Pro Tour San Diego
A huge congratulations to all of the finalists of Magic: the Gathering’s Pro Tour San Diego, but Simon Görtzen took the top prize and claimed bragging rights for this stop. I don’t know how many of these names will mean anything to my readers, but below is a list of the top 8 players. 1. Simon Görtzen (Aachen, Germany) 2. Kyle Boggemes (Waterford, Michigan) 3. Luis Scott-Vargas (Oakland, California) 4. Craige Wescoe (Cincinnati, Ohio) 5. Daniel Gräfensteiner (Nürnberg, Germany) 6. Niels Viaene (Gent, Belgium) 7. Yoshihiko Ikawa (Nishitokyo, Japan) 8. Jeroen Kanis (Rotterdam, Netherlands) I am especially proud to see Luis Scott-Vargas’ name grace this list as I had the chance to see his games at Grand Prix Oakland. It’s great to see players representing so many countries, proving that this is definitely a worldwide past time. Next stop on the professional circuit is Pro Tour—San Juan in Puerto Rico,

Upper Deck to discontinue the World of Warcraft TCG
Sadly in a press release today Upper Deck has confirmed that they will not be renewing their contracts with Blizzard to continue the WoW trading card or miniatures games. Citing a downturn in sales and a general slowing in the market as their reasons, Upper Deck plans to sell cards and minis through the end of March but after that no more card packs including the Class Starter Deck, Wrathgate Booster, Souls of Vengeance Starter, Deluxe Starter and Booster will not be released. “We are currently working with Blizzard Entertainment to facilitate a smooth transition as they work on their own plans for a World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Further announcements on this transition will follow over the coming weeks.” Now there was a blue post from Zarhym that confirms the statement above from Upper Deck and something tells me that the transition could be an easy transition but

Yu-Gi-Oh! Updates
Something pretty exciting has been released to the world of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The Duel Terminals, after success in Japan, have been brought to official tournament stores in the United States. These terminals are arcade style machines that play and teach the trading card game as well as dispense cards to players. Play on the machine can be at one of two levels. Players may choose to skip playing and just get their card. The cards are specially treated so they can be scanned and used inside the game. The terminal cards can also be used as actual cards and, once these unique cards are released in non-terminal products, will be legal for use in tournaments. They hope to bring in foot traffic to the stores that have them as well as increase the enthusiasm for the card game itself. Speaking of tournaments, the Pegasus League has finally
