A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Twilight Zone!

That’s right, Legacy Interactive and CBS have announced development of an adventure/hidden object game based on the iconic 1960′s TV series, The Twilight Zone set to launch in the beginning of next year for PC and Mac. In this original adaptation of the series, players will take on the role of an actor who somehow gets trapped in a TV show, playing a recurring character across many episodes.

“Legacy Interactive is thrilled to be collaborating with CBS Consumer Products and developer Spark Plug Games on this amazing franchise,” said Ariella Lehrer, President and CEO of Legacy Interactive. “Who doesn’t remember episodes like ‘Time Enough at Last’ or ‘Nightmare at 20,000 Feet?’ Beloved by baby boomers worldwide, Legacy hopes to bring the same chilling intelligence, social relevance, and supernatural themes to our Twilight Zone video game.”

The Twilight Zone will be the latest addition to Legacy’s popular “Hollywood Hits” game series that includes Murder, She Wrote, House, M.D., Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds and Psych and will be available for download from LegacyGames.com and at top retailers nationwide.

Toy producer Bif Bang Pow!, along with EMCE Designs, is bringing 70s style to a brand-new line of action figures. Each 8-inch figurine features styling by EMCE, cloth apparel, and plastic accessories.

BBP has over 40 licensed characters planned for 2010, with the first set having a Comic Con/early summer release, with the rest of them spread out over the rest of the year. Included are much demanded favorites from:

The Venture Bros.™ (Cartoon Network)

Dexter™ (Showtime Networks)

Lost™ (ABC Disney)

The Big Lebowski™ (NBC Universal)

The Twilight Zone™ (CBS)

Flash Gordon™ (King Features)

Scott Ian (Anthrax)

“We’re very excited about launching this new range of action figures. For the first time in Bif Bang Pow! history, all of our licenses will be living in the same universe. So if you’ve always wanted Dr. Girlfriend to seduce Dexter Morgan, or for Ming™ the Merciless to fight The Dude, now’s your chance!”, said Jason Lenzi, CEO of Bif Bang Pow! “And the exceptional articulation makes the posing possibilities virtually limitless, which comes in handy for animated characters!”

The first prototypes will be available at the New York Toy Fair (for retailers and press), and they should be available for pre-order/purchase from Entertainment Earth (link goes to Lost section).
