Yeah, you play your Xbox 360 on your television, but that’s about to be switched around — this holiday season, television is coming to your Xbox 360. Somehow.

40 television providers (in this case, it seems more like channels than actual cable providers, though Verizon and Xfinity are involved) from around the world are offering their entertainment services on the c0nsole to over 20 countries.

Looks like a Gold Subscription is required to use…well, any of this. And a subscription to the cable provider in question.

Speaking of questions, there are a lot of them. Hopefully they’re all sorted before the holiday season officially rolls around.

Pre-orders have closed. The next time you’ll be able to order will be February 9. Which is one day before the general market launch of the iPhone 4 on the Verizon network. On February 10 the sale for everyone else in the general public will begin.

The company will be opening up early at over 2000 Verizon Wireless Communications stores at 7 am. No it’s not Christmas, it’s just the iPhone. Which yiu can also have out in Verizon if you buy it at the Apple Store, Best Buy, and Wal-marts.

The phones themselves will be $199 for the 16BG, $299 for 32GB and the phone will be able to be used as a mobile hotspot. No other details have been specified regarding what the plans will look like, what data charges may be or what the upgrade terms are. I’m also intrigued to see how they’re going to accommodate new Verizon customers who may be moving over from AT&T.

Skype envisions a world where video plays a larger role in the way we communicate. The next generation innovation involving video calling will not be bound to the 005ebf">computer. We’re seeing a proliferation of video calling shared between all kinds of connected devices. It’s on computers (today 1/3 of all calls on Skype happen via video), televisions (Skype bringing video calls to living rooms via Panasonic, Samsung & LG partnership), and it will eventually be coming to mobile devices too. We’re betting big on video, and we intend to set the bar on mobile video calling, and it’s something we’re going to do this year.

We will be bringing a direct to consumer app to the Android marketplace later this year. This application will be available for all consumers globally to download regardless of carriers. (i.e. similar to how we offer the iPhone app today)

Currently, there is no date set or price on this device but this is an exciting step forward for any Android user.

Studies show that more and more women are getting into gaming. From young girls to their moms, there is something for everyone to enjoy in gaming. Verizon recognizes this and has created a new online community designed for female gamers – “She’s Got Verizon Games”.

“Research shows that today there are nearly as many female gamers as there are male gamers,” said Susan Retta, vice president of consumer products and services at Verizon. “Our new casual gaming portal gives women and girls a new place online to enjoy games, interact with other players, win prizes, identify themselves by games they love to play, challenge and stretch their minds, and just have a lot of fun.”

“She’s Got Verizon Games” hosts not just puzzle games or casual games, but also action PC games. Access is based on a subscription model for unlimited for $14.99 a month or a Quick Pack of 450 games for $4.99 a month.

They will also be supporting the community with game nights, game challenges (everyone loves achievements), avatars and trophy cases.

The Free Ladies Nights start on November 24 from 7 p.m. Eastern time to 7 a.m. Nov. 25. During that night, any Verizon Broadband subscriber can access and play all the games in the Verizon Games catalog for free.

I went and check out the details on the site and it seems to be a well done games portal. I do like that they have a wide variety of games and not just puzzle games (although that is a large part of it). Guys can also join the site as well, but their ad is different with mentions of action shooters and strategy sims “that men will love”.
