Eternity Warriors for iOS and Android
Eternity Warriors is a fourth offering from Glu games. They have released a few other skinned over games based on a similar engine and have had success. They could be some competition for Gameloft on iOS. Their games are free to play, and extra items and currencies are able to be purchased in game through the App Store. It is a fun ‘Freemium’ game. It’s a Diablo-esque hack-and-slash fantasy game. Eternity Warriors control set up has a stick and an attack button. An AI controlled companion follows your character around and gets in the way. The two burly icons bumble into each other like a pair of magnetized dwarves. Enemies come in waves monsters with swords and axes come at you on all sides. The character is difficult to move and the control stick does not work as fluidly as I am used to from other games with virtual joystick.

Interview: Brenda Holzknecht, Supreme Enabler at Geek Chic Furniture
While at a convention Gaming Angels Cherithe came across some beautiful hand made furniture for table top gaming. They also had storage solutions for comics and collectibles. Geek Woman was happy to interview Brenda Holzknecht Supreme Enabler at Geek Chic Furniture. Geek Woman: What was it that inspired you to start making furniture for gamers? Brenda Holzknecht: Well, being gamers, it was originally all about making furniture for ourselves. We gamers are a “can do” bunch. We can design and make our own furniture, but we realized sometimes it’s nice not to spend your time making the furniture as much as playing with the furniture. Wanting to spend your off time in a pleasant environment, gaming with a group of your friends is what it is all about. Not spending your off time designing, making and in many cases educating yourself on furniture building and manufacturing…a skill that many will

Weekly Roundup Episode 18 — listen to find out how you can win a copy of RIFT
Not-so-live this week, since there’s so much traveling going on in our ranks. Except for me, because I never go anywhere, apparently. Instead of a question, Elizabeth talks GenCon, since she was kind of right there at the time. (On that note, apologies for the somewhat subpar audio quality.) Then it’s on to what we’ve been playing and the news (PS Vita’s 2012 release, new stats on in-game purchasing habits and Diablo III’s real money auctions included). I may or may not still have a Tiny Tower problem that is the subject of much ridicule, most of which is my own. Also, listen to find out how you can win a copy of RIFT. You know you want it. Download the mp3 here. As always, we encourage you to check out our partners in GamingAngels Presents: The Married Gamers, Game Dames and PrincessCast. Be sure to take a listen to

Weekly Roundup Episode 17 – The Live Edition
Hey there everyone! It’s time for a historical first that we pulled off on a whim – the first-ever Weekly Roundup Live Show, broadcasting on this Ustream channel. You could have actually seen us talking — if you were there. Trina and I think it went pretty well, but we won’t do it again unless you like it. So let us know! We will probably be back next week, though. (Also — be a dear and leave some iTunes reviews, will you? Need the .mp3? It’s right here.) On tap this week: The ESA’s charging California for their legal fees, mostly because California was too dumb to realize that the Supreme Court’s opinion wouldn’t be too much different from other courts’. (Sorry, but it’s true.) BioWare’s letting us choose a FemShep…and she looks like so many other heroines. Great? GamePro magazine is making the switch to quarterly. Stripgamer. It exists.

Weekly Roundup Episode 15
Sorry about the delay, folks — I’ve got weekend brain, thanks to Harry Potter-induced melancholy. This week, our biweekly special guest, Summer from Fandomania, is back, and it’s inappropriate as usual. Also as usual, it’s all her fault. First, it’s what we’ve been playing, followed by the news: Sony Online Entertainment is charging for DCUO DLC, Netflix is charging more, PopCap’s got new owners, Sony’s “Welcome Back” worked in some sene and the 90s is coming back to television. Well, the 90s on Nickelodeon, anyway. Listen in the player below, or find us on iTunes! (And if you are a faithful listener, be a dear and review us?) As always, we encourage you to check out our partners in GamingAngels Presents: The Married Gamers, Game Dames and PrincessCast. Be sure to take a listen to Blood Angels, our True Blood podcast. ALSO: We’ve got some new stuff coming up, but

Weekly Roundup Episode 14
It’s time for another Weekly Roundup! This week, we have our first voicemail question (!) from @tyrone_hawk, about how to get his wife to enjoy playing first-person shooters, instead of just watching. Then it’s on to what we’ve been playing this week, the Gears of War 3 debacle, Civilization’s new Facebook offering, more on the Wii U, Sony’s PSN Pass…and the Mass Effect movie. Because they’re bringing it to San Diego Comic Con in some manner. Hope you enjoy this week’s show! As always, we encourage you to check out our partners in GamingAngels Presents: The Married Gamers, Game Dames and PrincessCast. Be sure to take a listen to Blood Angels, our True Blood podcast. ALSO: We’ve got some new stuff coming up, but you’ll have to wait to hear more. If you want to contact us, you’ve got tons of options! Weekly Roundup Episode 13 (Please don’t be unlucky!)
Our special guest is back, yay! But Trina’s not with us, boo. She’s off doing Important Things, so I guess we can give her a pass. This week, it’s all about retro games, Supreme Court rulings, and unsavory working conditions. Well, that and some more stuff. (Because remember, there’s always more.) We hope you enjoy this week’s hilarity! Listen in the player below, or find us on iTunes. Relevant links are below the player. The Supreme Court is on our side, yay! (Also, graham crackers.) Leland Yee just won’t give up. (Dude, give up. Capcom 3DS titles are apparently single-play only. (Notice we didn’t say single-player.) Nintendo insists on breaking our hearts. (And keeping the thing they need in North America out of North America.) Team Bondi insists on breaking its employees. (This is why you might not actually want to be a game developer.) As always, we encourage you

Supreme Court is just not that into restricting minors’ access to violent games
It may be a cheesy headline, but really, it’s true. Today, the Supreme Court of the United States (hereafter referred to as SCOTUS, because that’s way easier) ruled that California’s law restricting the sales of violent video games to adults only was just plain unconstitutional under the First Amendment. So in the battle of Brown v. EMA, the Entertainment Merchants Association wins by a 7-2 vote, as celebrated on the front page of Steam like so: To read more on the case’s background, read our first few articles: a short introduction to it, my initial interpretation of the case and an interview with the ECA’s Jenn Mercurio, who added a little insight to the case’s purpose. The Court’s opinion was filed by Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, who has typically sided with free speech and expression interests, so this…actually isn’t too surprising, given his conservative history on the Court. Also, he

Redbox now scratches some of your game itches for $2 a day
After a lengthy test period in several markets, over 21,000 Redbox video rental kiosks will now also become video game kiosks. Games will be the most expensive option in the box, with the rate being $2 a day. You can still reserve titles via the website or an iPhone app, so that should help you make sure that your choice is available (though I’m sure it’s not guaranteed). “America’s destination for movies is now giving consumers access to the latest DVDs, Blu-ray Discs and a selection of today’s top video games,” said Mitch Lowe, president of Redbox. “Redbox is now America’s one-stop shop for entertainment.” The variety of titles available to rent probably can’t make everyone happy — only console titles will be there, but some specific games won’t be available to rent on all consoles, even if it exists for all of them. For instance, LEGO Pirates of the
