Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty Collector’s Edition unboxing

So I was pleasantly surprised earlier when I found a delivery man at my door with what turned out to be a very exciting package containing the collector’s edition for Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty! So I decided to do a little unboxing vid of all of the goodies inside. I’ve uploaded it to YouTube at least 3 times yet the audio and video get messed up and don’t sync properly. So apologies for that! So once 12:01am hits, this girl is installing this game and will probably be up most of the night playing.

This is Jane Austen’s Fight Club

If you’ve listened to the Lit Angels, you know that I’m a pretty big Jane Austen fan. I’ve read just about every book several times over. So when I saw this video linked up on Jezebel it made me laugh and thank whoever came up with the idea. The acting and production value is very well done, and quite honestly could make for a funny independent film. . “The first rule of fight club is one never mentions fight club. No corsets, no hatpins, and no crying.”

One last look at “Portal 2″ at E3

Well, this week, anyway. Valve released the last two E3 2010 videos today. These show off the latest “Gel” technologies – Propulsion Gel and Repulsion Gel. Watch the videos to see how the new Aperture Science technology will help you think with portals. I get the feeling that Repulsion Gel doesn’t make personality spheres hate you. In fact, it’s more of a bouncemaker than anything. The splash effect the blue liquid has is particularly good-looking. Propulsion Gel, however, just makes you speedy. This video concludes with a bit of “food for thought” from GLADoS:

Catch Up on Parts 2-5 of the “Portal 2″ Demo

On Monday, we gave you the first part of the Portal 2 E3 demo. Today, we’ve got another four parts, dealing almost exclusively with new Aperture Science technology. Part 2 deals with Excursion Funnels, which are an awesome-looking game mechanic – like a slow-moving tunnel that leads to some incredibly creative gameplay. This also marks the in-video debut of the mirrored cube. Then, we have the almost-nausea-inducing Aerial Faith Plate. If flinging made you sick…well. Thirdly, we’re introduced to Pneumatic Diversity Vents. This is essentially a really cool phrase just to say “Giant Vacuum Tube.” Lastly, the Thermal Discouragement Beam is a really cool way to cause a turret to explode. “It burns!” Yes. It does.

Make your own story in “Etrian Odyssey III”

Atlus have started releasing a series of video shorts for Etrian Odyssey II, out for Nintendo DS on September 21. The first one, released today, is all about the game’s storytelling. The biggest thing about it is that you pick what the story is. You do what you want. Does fishing seem like a good idea? How about a few quests, or some mapmaking? You get to decide. Everyone starts from the same point, but from there, it’s all you. Future videos will feature character creation, combat, quests, mapmaking and more, but you can watch the first one here:

“Reach” Video Explores the Carnage at Your Disposal

Well, if you haven’t suspected it before now, it looks like the truth is finally out: Everyone at Bungie is having a lot more fun with “Halo: Reach” than you are. But why aren’t you having fun with it? Oh, right, because you don’t have access to the beta yet. Well, you’re definitely not alone, because you probably don’t work at Bungie! This video, coming in at a whopping eight and a half minutes, has people talking about the weapons and armor you can equip. They also go over the multiplayer types and maps, as well as arena divisions. I think everyone uses the word “awesome” at least once, if that counts for anything. Something that looks particularly interesting is the multiplayer matching method. Not only does it group you together by skill level, but their system also supposedly takes into account just how much fun you’ll have with someone.

Cisco Announces The New Flip SideHD

The camcorder has evolved. I remember the very first camcorder that I ever encountered. It was my father’s Sony Handycam with the super tiny tapes, which he used to record Christmas mornings, dance recitals, and just random foolishness. It’s been years since I saw that machine, yet the memories that have embedded into tape, make me smile today. That seems to be the goal with Cisco’s new camcorder, the Flip SideHD.  The new camera promises to make video capturing easy and fun.  By introducing the new widescreen, made it very easy to play back some of your favorite moments and with the touch screen interface make it easier for navigation.  For more information on the camera check out the product specs below. Flip SlideHD Product Specifications: •    Color: White/Silver and Personalized •    Recording Time:  Up to four hours •    Storage Time: Up to 12 Hours •    Memory: 16GB •    Screen: 3-inch
