Alice in Wonderland opens this weekend, but as if that wasn’t cool enough, Disney has announced that one of the trailers will be for Tron: Legacy and it will be in 3D and Imax 3D starting March 5th. That is going to be awesome.

Tron: Legacy will be in theaters on December 17, 2010.

Epic Mickey

Game Informer has a shot of its November cover on their website and it definitely looks like it could be Mickey Mouse.

The tease could be the new Mickey game currently called, Epic Mickey. Epic Mickey has been teased with screenshots that it may be a dark and steampunk themed world.

The current rumors are that it may be a Wii exclusive title, but we’ll all have to wait until the new Game Informer hits the stands.

D23 Expo Flyer

Walt Disney Studios is gearing up for the D23 Expo and they’ve released the program schedule which is full of upcoming sneak peaks as well as look back at Disney favorites.

Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook will be showing exclusive sneak peaks of Disney features as “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” “Old Dogs” (with Robin Williams and John Travolta), “Prince of Persia” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (both from producer Jerry Bruckheimer), “Tron: Legacy,” plus updates on many more exciting projects. Disney-Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be discussing and showing materials from upcoming Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios’ motion pictures as “The Princess and the Frog,” “Rapunzel,” “Toy Story 3. Both presentations will be in the Anaheim Convention Center in a 4000 seat arena.

Other screenings will be showcasing Disney Digital 3D shown in RealD 3D. Some of the US premiers will be Disney Digital 3D versions of Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

The 128-page graphic novel, a full-color action-adventure anthology featuring six original stories, is a prequel to “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” the feature film to be released by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films on May 28, 2010. The Prince of Persia graphic novel anthology will publish in April 2010 simultaneously in hardcover and paperback with a 125,000 first print run.

“We are thrilled to publish Jordan Mechner’s book debut,” said Jon Yaged, vice president, U.S. publisher, Disney Book Group. “We have developed a fantastic publishing program for the Prince of Persia film release and this graphic novel is an incredible cornerstone.”

At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 24, 2009 Jordan Mechner, Todd McFarlane, Bernard Chang, Tommy Lee Edwards, and Cameron Stewart will discuss the Prince of Persiagraphic novel anthology for the first time at Disney Press’s panel (11:30am-12:30pm, room 3) at the San Diego Convention Center.

Miyazaki's Ponyo

Viz Media announced today that they will be producing a series of new releases based on Ponyo, the new animated film from Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki.

Viz Media will offer a 4-volume full color Ponyo film comic, a Ponyo picture book, and the ART OF PONYO. The film will be released by Walt Disney Studios in North America on August 14, 2009.

Ponyo is a retelling of the Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale “The Little Mermaid”.

“Hayao Miyazaki is without question Japan’s most celebrated animation director, and we are privileged and extremely excited to announce the release of this new collection of titles in support of his newest film, PONYO,” says Gozalo Ferreyra, Vice President Sales & Marketing, VIZ Media. “The film garnered rave reviews and grossed more than $165 million during its initial theatrical run in Japan, making it that country’s highest grossing movie for 2008. In an age of computer graphics, Miyazaki made a very bold choice to animate this film by hand. As domestic audiences have come to know and love this creative visionary, we look forward to them discovering PONYO and this new collection of impressive releases from VIZ Media!”
