Clint Eastwood 35 films 35 years at Warner Bros

A couple of weeks ago, Warner Bros invited me to take a look at the Clint Eastwood 35 films 35 years at Warner Bros collection which is now available on DVD or for download on iTunes and Playstation 3. At first glance, the name seems like a catchy gimmick, but with one glance at the iTunes page you see the large and varied list of movies Clint has participated in. Many of us know Clint’s more famous films, but while he may be famous for particular lines in his westerns, his dramatic films are just as strong. Letters from Iwo Jima, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River and A Perfect World to name a few. In glancing over the large list, I realized just how many of his films I have yet to see. For this article, Warner Bros sent me a download code for iTunes. The hardest part is deciding

    “Gilligan’s Island” Film In Development

Looks like Warner Bros. Pictures and Atlas Entertainment are looking to develop a feature film based on 1960s television series “Gilligan’s Island,” AKA The Original “LOST.” Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will produce for Atlas, and Brad Copeland will write the screenplay. The original show producer Sherwood Schwartz is actually willing to executive produce along with his son, Lloyd. Since it’s not exactly 1964 anymore, they plan to make it contemporary, and are hoping to start production next year. Once the script is complete, they’ll start searching for a director and new cast. As someone who never really watched the show in reruns, I think this could be a good way to introduce the series to a brand-new set of potential fans. Also, as far as the new cast goes, maybe they could turn it into a reality television series. Well, as long as it doesn’t turn out like The

Relive the Nip/Tuck series in HD

Next week marks the Series Finale of Nip/Tuck.  It’s been a personal favorite of mine since I started watching in the second season, and I know I will be sad to see it finally go.  To celebrate the finale, Warner Bros. is announcing the HD release of the entire series for download on iTunes, Amazon On Demand, XBOX, and more.  On March 3, the series that changed the landscape of cable television comes to an end. If you haven’t watched the series before, now’s your chance to get started, and see it through to the end without the rough long waits between seasons on FX. Although it does need to be said that the show is not for younger audiences. Starting this week exclusively on iTunes, fans can relive each juicy moment by watching Nip/Tuck Seasons 1-6 in HD.  Individual episodes of seven season are available the day after broadcast with the

Warner’s New Redbox/Netflix Rental Policies Bound to Bring Out the Pirates

Today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced a multi-year distribution agreement with Redbox that will require Warner new-release DVD and Blu-Ray titles to only become available 28 days after official release. (Netflix has agreed to the same terms.) What does that mean for you, the eager DVD renter-to-be? Well, as far as Redbox goes, you’re going to need to be a lot faster when attempting to obtain Warner titles on the first day of availability (well, as long as your local Redbox has fairly heavy traffic). Netflix users need to decide what to rent and put it on their list a lot earlier — the first two releases to fall under the new rule, The Invention of Lying and Whiteout, currently have a longer-than-usual wait list. (Netflix did actually get something out of the deal — the ability to stream more Warner titles.) It also means that piracy of Warner titles
