    Featured Interview – AddictingGames

This is one of the lost interviews from Casual Connect that I really believe is still relevant. I had the opportunity to speak with Nickelodeon’s AddictingGames about their purpose in the casual and community spaces, thoughts on trends in the casual market, and being a woman and a leader in the gaming industry. Enjoy! AG: Our goal at Addicting Games is to be the umbrella brand for the higher quality indie casual games, and I think what we’ve done as well is focused on the teenage demographic. There’s a lot of casual game brands that are about women over the age of 40. And what we’ve really done is emphasized that, “Hey there’s a ton of teenagers and aspirational teenagers both old and young who want to play games about being a teenager or just being goofy – being silly.” And it just so happens that a lot of the

    Muppets Studio on YouTube

I love it when a piece of my childhood hits Youtube allowing me to revisit and end up in fits of laughter. The Muppets are now on YouTube in full HD goodness. The Muppets Youtube channel seems to have just launched a few days ago with posts dating back to the 19th of November. There are only fourteen episodes up and they are all hilarious. Instead of doing work on GamingAngels, I went through and watched all of them! I hope we continue to see more. Here’s a sampling to get you hooked:

New trailer for Aussie VG show “GameDamage”!

I don’t know how many of you would remember, but before GamingAngels had it’s super mega awesome revamp I had posted in the forums about a show made by some Aussies. It was centered around video games and it featured the infamous Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw (Zero Punctuation). The show contained reviews and segments from Yahtzee and his fellow hosts Yug and Matt (AustralianGamer.com), and was a great attempt in my opinion. They even had 25, 000 hits for the pilot just 5 days after it was released on YouTube! Well, now they’re back and better than before with a new trailer! Feedback and better production have seen Yug, Matt and Yahtzee come up with what to me seems like a force to be reckoned with. It is currently in Cannes being showcased at the MIPCOM conference where they are hoping to strike a deal for the show to be distributed

Eion Colfer Talks About And Another Thing

I am a huge huge HUGE Douglas Adams fan. I have the Trilogy in 5 Parts, lovingly worn and earmarked with certain pages that made me laugh the most. I have seen the BBC show, I have listened to the audio tapes, and I have the movie. So when I walked into a Barnes & Noble a couple weeks back and saw an advertisement for And Another Thing, many questions came pouring into my brain. The first one was why, followed by who. I didn’t think anyone should bring back the series. Who was this Eion Colfer fellow and what exactly did he think he was doing to one of my favourite series of all time? Well, I was not alone in that thinking. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of H2G2 (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) fanatics out there. And we all wanted to know more about

Activision features Hefner in Guitar Hero 5 ads

Activision Blizzard caused quite a stir when their last tv ads featured Heidi Klum dancing around playing Guitar Hero. Interestingly enough, the ones featuring all male athletes didn’t cause alot of media talk. How does Activision Blizzard top themselves? By going straight to creator of Playboy, Hugh Hefner. The first tv ads will be shown during Big Brother today and they will feature Hugh Hefner and some of the bunnies. A senior brand manager told MCV that: “We have enlisted the help of Hugh Hefner and his Playboy bunnies for the TV advertising, which should appeal to our fans – and also guarantees their attention, at least for duration of the advert,” he said. “We saw from our work with Heidi in the previous creative that enlisting the help of true talent for our advertising can spread the Guitar Hero name virally. Our director’s cut of the Heidi TV ad
